NEW bleeder shock caps.

ive been using these since 1997/8? of course they were from yokomo and those tiny screws would strip like a mother f'er if you didnt have the exact precise screwdriver tip to fit the tiny phillips.
anyway, new from associated

i use the yokomo caps and even drill out the stock caps. this was new cap was WAY over due. the bleeder screws are the way to go. before bleeder screws, i hated associated shocks. something as simple as this makes me like them a lot.

Is it possable to use the VCS2 shock caps on the standard shocks?

Yes. I have them on my T4. Super easy to rebuild.

Yeah everyone around seems to be a bit too excited about this, never had any problems building shocks with normal caps. To me it just looks like another place to spring a leak..

Likewise; I've never had a problem building and bleeding Associated shocks. Though HPI/Tamiya shocks with the bladders bleed ever more easily.
I decided to convert my 10T to an SC10 a few days ago, before discovering this site, and I saw a reviewer that said he always had problems with Associated shocks. After that I pretty much took everything he wrote with a grain of salt, which pretty much involved the truck not handling at all.

I've been using the Yokomo caps since running the RC10GT. I keep a Trinity micro oiler full of 30wt shock oil. When the shocks start getting some air in them (inevitable), I would simply compress the shock with it still bolted to the car, remove the screw, and stick the micro oiler tip in the hole. Fill till it starts to seep out of the hole and replace the screw. Keep the shock compressed the whole time! Comes out perfect! Can't remember the last time I rebuilt an associated shock with that cap on them...
Never leaked out of the bleeder area either.
It's about time associated came up with something like this. Losi shocks are too easy to build in comparison.
