Bolink Digger Re-issue

Post by Diggley »

If anyone is interested in another Baja Bug to add to the growing collection....,

It looks like the old Bolink Digger has been re-issued by RJ Speed.

This might be a cheap alternative for a street (only) basher or body.

I was psyched to see the re-release. They changed the body somewhat on the new one. undecided If I like the addition.

I agree,

Any motor in the front of a Bug looks kinda funny....

It would be nice if they let that detail be an option..

The motor is not new. the exhaust pipes at the lower front edge of the doors is what was added. They added the same silly things to the bed of the pickup truck version.

I emailed rjspeed to confirm and he said that indeed he modified the molds :( too bad. That will make finding an original more fun

Too bad they couldn't "un-modify" the molds, and lose the engine & side pipes,..that wouldn't be a bad looking body otherwise.

I like the truck body better. Neat cars.

I bought one of the originals when they firs came out back in the day. The track I raced at had a class for them, it was a five lap dash. I think I paid under $40 for a new kit. When I moved I tossed it in the garbage as I though I would never use it :( wish I still had it for my collection.
