My Gosh Kenooze, you always do the cool stuff with Losi's!

I would love some scans of the car reviews you have..

Did RC Car Action ever do a race report on those worlds?

I need only the RCCA review of Finland '99 and SA '01 and then I have all the events.

Good luck with this build, I will be watching with interest!

To start, I got a Trinity P94, the Matt motor in SA.
Image

And Matt signed me a XXX wheel in 2004 during the Italian TC World
Image

Spindles and carriers, fit Losi titanium balls and Red aluminium mini locknut with foam pad on the camber ball only, but 2 washers under the steering ball
Image

The steerings arms fit also titanium ball and red nuts, and the steering levers was secured by Lunsford titanium screws
Image

The aluminium upper plate comes from Trinity like the servo post, to use this post, Matt need to drill the plate to fit the long pin of the aluminium servo post
Image

The rear end fit Trinity inner arm mount and Trinity 0° aluminium hubs
Image

The rear end of the projects with Lunsford titanium button head screw to secure the rear motor guard to the gear box
Image

Matt use also the really nice and strongly machined Trinity XXX motor plate
Image

The front bulkhead fit aluminium red button head screw to secure the front tower on. He fit also titanium balls with 4 or 5 gold washers under and a black foam. Just need to fit on the plastic front wing mount.

The project stopped yesterday night

Wow Kenooze, this thing is going to be wild when its done. Even though they are not really vintage, the cars the Losi Pros ran from about 2000-2002 were dialed with all the blue Trinity hop ups on them.

Can you scan the magazine you have with his car thats in the pictures ?

Does anybody know why the Losi team ran the old style rear rims at the worlds that year ?

The Old type of wheels from the XX, was narrower than the last one.
On low grip track, the tyre was most bumpy and gave more traction.

Looks awesome so far Kenooze! I love the trinity blue :)

I have the Ray Wood video of this worlds, and the track is very bumpy and slick/dusty. This was also the case for Italy in 2005.

Like Kenooze said (trying to say?), the narrower wheel causes the tyre to become taller as it is not spread as wide, and so it provides more cushioning and traction and is more forgiving in bumpy/dusty/crusty broken conditions. The Losi drivers used these rims in 2002 and 2005 for this purpose.

So jealous, I think you've been to all the latest worlds (1993 onwards) Kenooze?

You are parcially right, I'm in 1997 at the Ranch, 1999 Finland, but the french governement do not allow me to leave for SA so I miss it, but I'm in 2003 Minreg, 2005 italia and 2007 Japan. This year, I'm on way to stay at home ;)

Send me an email and I can send you whatever pics you want. The car is still completely together with the battery still soldered in, dirt on the tires, champaign stickiness and all. I also have all the articles from the race if you need copies.

Thats really cool the detail you have, even down to the red screws! Very cool, thanks!

Oh my gosh *picks jaw up off floor* that is awesome! Thanks for coming to contribute Matt!

Wow Kenooze, your replica has the best fan of all, the original guy!

Trying not to get OT, I was at Minnreg too, pretty shy though so might not have spoken to either of you, but I definately would of seen you both. Still have the video footage I just dubbed to dvd. I snuck some footage of Matt's triple x4 while it was sitting (unfortunately broken) in the tech area. Amazing milling to drop the diffs down! Big fan (but shy).

Maybe I'll pm you Kenooze about those worlds etc.

Back to the build, it really is a very faithful reproduction, can't see a single thing you have missed, and can't wait to see the finished product!
