Halsey Tribute Buggy
I decided to start a Halsey buggy tribute build. I picked the tires, wheels and bumper up about a year ago with this build in mind. For now this is planned as more of a tribute as I am not planning on cutting or drilling the chassis. Thanks to the guys who currently have Halsey replica builds for all the great reference material.

Re: Halsey Tribute Buggy
very nice, white and bright, maybe you could look for some rear Tamiya Holiday Buggy or AJ's style tires? Now onto the body and a hard quest towards the right decals

Re: Halsey Tribute Buggy
Asso, for some reason I thought the rear tires were the original Associated spikes. Just never paid attention I guess but you are right. That su*cks because I had a pair of AJ's that look to be the correct tire but sold them about 4 months ago because I didn't think I needed them for any reason. Bummer. It's hard enough to find some parts let alone have something NIP and sell it for $5 and then have to hunt for it again. OOPS.
I am sure the decal hunt will be fun. I think that is part of the reason I am taking the easy road of "tribute" instead of "replica". I think I have the 4's and black autographic lettering but that is about it so far.

Re: Halsey Tribute Buggy
If you watch the Winning Edge video on Youtube Jim Halsey has the car in his hands as he describes what they did to theirs and says they like the Holiday buggy tires because they are more pliable and not as stiff. That video would probably be your best reference source.

Re: Halsey Tribute Buggy
There is a Youtube downloader software http://youtubedownload.altervista.org/ I downloaded the individual pieces then converted them to .wmv format. I combined them in Windows Movie Maker into a single file project and then put them into Windows DVD maker and came out with a DVD format but as yet haven't got the right one to play on my TV thru my DVD but I'll get the right one soon.

yup.... tons of fun.railey72 wrote:I am sure the decal hunt will be fun.

hell, i'm STILL looking for 2 little decals for mine. they're just non-existant for some reason. you'd think with all of the nip JG parts out there i could come up with atleast ONE dark blue JG sticker. and i might as well just forget about the mickey thompson decal on the roof........
