Well, I had full intentions to take it out to the local track here. But I found out that it's not open on Fridays...

So it took it out to a local park here which has a loose gravel path that I ran it down. Was pretty loose in the back end and liked to do donuts, but once it straightened out it was fast... wow. Too fast for my skill level as a driver probably :) I did notice that the left rear wheel was binding on the hub or something. I might need a spacer on the rear end. Lots of fun though, nice to get it off the bench!

The end result now, is that I have a somewhat dirty car... :(

Bearing crush tubes in the rear hubs and proper shimming of the CVD are critical. (do I see a little induction experiment going on there with the esc leads) Be careful with those battery terminal posts, those are charging posts, they have a different fit that isn't stable unless they are stationary, and may cause issues when run, as they move around..dirt, dust, gets into the battery female sockets and can cause arcing and shorts, as well as periods of inconsistent power.

Thanks for the warning, I'll keep an eye on the battery posts. It was an experiment... I'll see how they do over time. Never thought about them letting in dirt.

I think the binding problem was the balancing weights that were on the inside of the rims. There was a lot of scuffing on the rear hub carriers... and the weights were moved from their original position. So I pulled them off and things seem better.

Does anyone know for sure if these axles will fit in the B4 steering block?

It's an exciting time with all the RC10 re-re talk going on so I thought I'd forge ahead with the paint. It was my first airbrushing attempt (well second... my first was about 25 years ago on my original purple RC10, but that doesn't count!).

I'm pretty happy with the results, it's not perfect but it looks good from a distance I think. And it's a racer, so it will be used I hope! I have to track down some decals to put on it. I might order a set for the B4 and use those.

I like the paint! I'm painting my woin with similar colors, except I got the Tamiya fluorescent orange! Neon screams 90's!

Thank you... I think next time I'm going to try Pactra paint. I really like the idea of water cleanup.

I've got some updates coming for this one soon(ish). I found a full set of B4 shocks on eBay for a good price so they are on the way. The shocks that are on here now will be used for another build.

I'll need to get new shock towers, but I want to try to make my own... perhaps a pin router setup (similar to gomachv's).

So I ran it once, and already am ripping it apart. Sorry gold pan!

The nice part is that it's got a sweet set of B4 shocks that will be getting mounted. I need to get some towers for it, I am thinking about pulling the trigger on a shapeoko mill and making my own.

I'm confused... With this build I'm pretty sure I can build this with stuff I have laying around. Only thing that had prevented me from a OIN build is the towers and the klein/dynotech arms. With you using stock arms, is this narrower than the B4 still?
