That crossed my mind too. I'm also thinking of using all my left over parts to build a Tomahawk.besty22 wrote:Cant decide whether to buy another kit for later or spend the money on option parts lol

I love the kyosho LEMANS brushless if that is what you are referring to. It should look great on the scorpion but not as nice as a mint vintage lemans of your choice. Performance wise the brushless wins.
I am have posted all my builds on flickr, just figuring out how it can be viewed by public. I will get around it and start my build thread of the kyosho/schorcher/beetle and post a link to the pics!

Decided to change up the colors a bit. Found out the chassis doesn't take the anno very well. I almost wonder if they had a clear anno on it already, because I didn't have the parts stripped. The shocks turned out perfect
It's time for a black wing and body. I'm going to try to dye the shock parts black as well

Looking good Jeff!
Have You tried dyeing the red plastic shock parts black?
One of those "moustache" bumpers, would really look good on that build.

Dye is next. The dark color makes the red clamps look like day glow red

Looks awesome, Jeff. Kudos to you on being the first guy here to do something significantly different from box-art.
Too bad the aluminum didn't take new anodizing very well...it might've been previously hard-anodized with clear or silver color, and would've probably needed to be stripped & polished before re-anodizing. But it still looks wicked. I would probably dye the shock collars black.
If you really wanted to go to town, you could contact Fastener Express and put in an order for a bunch of red-anodized screws, shock nuts & wheel nuts.

Mmmh those red parts are so nice.
I've finished my Tomahawk Rere runner, but with the stock silver shocks.

Nice. Reminds me of Lars' Tomatohawk.gomachv wrote:Decided to change up the colors a bit. Found out the chassis doesn't take the anno very well. I almost wonder if they had a clear anno on it already, because I didn't have the parts stripped. The shocks turned out perfect![]()

Since I was doing a batch of anno anyway I decided to send out a spare chassis set just to flip. This is it, with the natural g10 towers and radio plate set. After seeing it in natural I'm not sure which I prefer, that or the black! This adds the vintage feel IMO

JUST BEAUTIFUL, love how the shocks turned out, that deep blood red color, I have some used CB 88s that need a makeover!
Where had you have the anodized done and for how much, I am guessing the charge would be a minimum standard price for if you did 1 or 10 pieces huh? I just need my shocks done, thats all.
