I've got one or two old RRC mags - but the scans that I've been posting are all from the same article that was posted up here in the 'scans' section (to which I posted a link in my last post)... its certainly worth a search, some interesting stuff posted in there

I did have loads of RRC - along with MaxPower magazines but they all got thrown out... I regret getting rid of the R/C car mags

Forgot to add this picture... I filed the rear of the chassis to give a little more clearance for the main belt where it enters the gearbox at the rear. My new chassis measures 2.5mm in thickness where as the original is about 2.2/3mm, its only 0.2/0.3mm difference but it makes a massive difference for how stiff/rigid the chassis plate feels (not having battery slots mist help too?) - The added thickness also reduces the clearance of the belt to the U/Side of the chassis so the little chamfer at the rear should help stop the teeth of the belt from catching on the chassis edge

Mmm interesting - that seems like an obvious solution Paul.... but doesn't it reduce the roll bar's effectiveness, being that its cross sectional area has been reduced?

Mmm - that does looks like a suitable solution... the only problem I guess is that the belt cover would need to be split to allow clearance for the 'kinked' wire? Also, i'm sure that although the wire hasn't been reduced in CSA, the bends will affect/alter the effectiveness of the roll bar.

Justin; did you see the photo showing the difference between the BossCat/ProCat eccentrics?

Yes dan I did it all makes sense now. I'm gonna stick with my trinity / wasp rear drum until I can find one of the wasp stealth gearboxes which is now high up on the want list.

I'm going to try and I stress try and get mine sorted for the revival meeting at the A1 Rc club next month. But I'm still waiting in parts to even start rebuilding mine

In the end I managed to finish 5th in the A final after holding 3rd for a few laps at the beginning of the race

Now.... wheres my 6.5bl motor

So I found that 6.5bl motor & put it in! Boy that made the ProCat fly! I raced the car again last night & with the car's extra speed (& punch to clear the double jump) I felt like I was much nearer the pace of the front-runners on what was a much busier race-night. I had a rather torrid time in my three qualifying runs which generally involved me moving over to let the fast guys through... who would subsquently crash... so I'd let them through again, & so-on, but I had done enough to qualify for the last spot in the 'A'. Onto the start of the A final... its sometimes better to start at the back & so it proved by picking my way past crashed cars on the first couple of corners off the start & so I found myself in 5th... the laps went by & I was really getting into the groove with the ProCat managing to stay with the field of leading cars for a short while! The two leading cars sprinted away, but having past the 4th place car (can't quite remember how) I ended up following the 3rd place car closely (A Cougar KF from memory) A couple of near grip roll moments caused me to drop back a bit but was really pleased to hold onto my 4th spot against a more competitive field!

Yes I was quite pleased

The track is laid out indoors on blue astro turf which gets rolled up & put away each week - so not being exposed to weather or laid over a bed of sand (like an outdoor astro turf track would be) the grip is very high!

This is the layout they did for the British Indoor champs meeting - the light blue is the astro

Like the look of that, proper setup we use to have a old school hall. ust before I gave up they did have a on road track built but I use to race buggies so wasn't really any use to me.

The track is less complex on a Tuesday night to the one that is shown in the photo above... to allow us to set it up & pack it away in a reasonable time, but it still is normally a good layout to challenge all levels.
