There is not a hole in it there... Looks like it, but its not. The new B4 covers have 4 of those circle marks in the plastic. You can't see the other 3 marks because of the lighting.

I spent a good part of Sunday trimming the Viper body to fit the chassis. I've got it mounted an looking pretty clean. I'm planning an airbrush paint job now... no spoilers yet, but it will be vintage inspired...
So I picked up a 19 tooth pinion gear at the hobby shop close by however the motor is too big I think. The pinion is about 1/8" away from meshing with the spur gear and it's as close as it can go.
I have a 72 tooth spur gear... Do I need to go bigger pinion and spur gear? Or is my motor the wrong one? I have a Reedy 3300kv.
I'm a little bummed about the gearing dilemma. Hopefully I just need to get a larger pinion gear and spur gear and not a new motor.
It's an exciting time with all the RC10 re-re talk going on so I thought I'd forge ahead with the paint. It was my first airbrushing attempt (well second... my first was about 25 years ago on my original purple RC10, but that doesn't count!).
I'm pretty happy with the results, it's not perfect but it looks good from a distance I think. And it's a racer, so it will be used I hope! I have to track down some decals to put on it. I might order a set for the B4 and use those.
Well, I'm getting painfully close to being able to run this thing. Exciting! I've got an 87 tooth spur gear and some decals on order.
I picked out my mintage unused battery cup from my old RC10 and decided to use that for this car. I also got my banana connectors in the post this week so I soldered on battery and motor connectors. Now I just need to figure out what the heck I need to do to set all the electronics up. I write software for a living so if I can't figure it out I should be ashamed! Pretty happy with the results so far, I'm sure it will look better once I have the decals on... although I wish the orange had a little more red in it...
It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas Factory Works website
Very modest, personable genius moonlighting as an airline pilot; looking for position as millionaire international playboy. Note: would prefer position where I don't have to bring my own million...
So this weekend I managed to pick up my spur gear as well as a sheet of B4.1 decals. I spent a little bit of time getting the electronics sorted out. Got my batteries taking a charge so I'm all set for a shakedown run at the track. Not sure when this will happen... hopefully within the next few weeks.
This is a great site and I would like to get some info regarding RC10 Gold Pan Runner builds. I have a A Stamp chassis and would like to use the same B4 Hub Set Up with B44 CVAs. Most of the builds that I see here in the forum shows a B4 Hub/B44 CVA...

Hi , I am new if you didn't catch a couple of my previous posts.
Back when I was into the hobby the first time I wanted one of these RC10's . I couldn't afford it of course and ended up with my Losi Junior 2 , which I loved . ( still do )
But I...

I hereby declare this project DONE ( sorta ), everything is hooked up , Its a runner , there are a few parts I need to really make it right but its totally use-able as it sits.

The test run went ok except someone assembled the...
This A-stamp chassis has been sitting around for a while. I think I bought it from rctenracer. Anyway, I thought I should do something with it, so I'm building a runner with it featuring hex axles all around, RC4WD tires, Gear Head...

I love the combination of that gorgeous livery with the charcature-like oversized head and tires/wheels.
By the way: The early prototype of the rc10 used a Rough Rider body too.
Ever since I got my Lazer ZX new I've always wanted to do a 4wd RC10. I've also always wanted a mid motor RC10 and of course something super fast. We were pretty fast back in the day but with todays bruchless setups it's seems even more feasible....

unless I missed it, what material did you use for the 3d printed arms? And general printer settings? I always wanted to try printing my own arms (which would involve me stopping playing w/ RC cars and finish my new 3d printer or at least fixing the...
Well I have a simple problem that seems to have a complex answer. My Goldpan weighs in at about 4.25-4.5 pounds and is really quite the piece to try and power. I have the aluminum chassis that has braces on the top and bottom made out of aluminum...

Yeah I got the idea when i got tired of spinning out on pavement and slamming the rear corners into the fence poles and breaking stuff.
This this is basically going to be a stock gold pan rc10 with titanium turnbuckles, stealth tranny and a few mods to lighten and a couple litlle Cliff Lett inspired mods.
