Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion
Does anyone know what modern 2.2" wheels will work up front? (preferably with the stock bearings) I am only familiar with associated (sae) models, but I had to get one of these.
It's a nice retro kit (what quaint front geometry) , and I'd second the observations about the out drive bores not being deep enough. I disassembled my diff a couple of times while boring out the out drives on a drill press, and the drive shafts are free now.

Bored, waiting on these hop ups to drop, I tried on some new wheels and tires to see what fits. I'm loving the wide stance with these front wheels. It's also safe to say that just about any rear wheel will fit because of the way they mount. These Prolines are for an RC10.

Sneak peek- These will be 12 mm. rear & 11 mm. bearing front for all cars that take 'em, but a special set w/adapters will also be available just for the Scorpion that take stock bearings. 2 tones, shiny & spun center like the kit wheels. To take RC4WD Mickey Thompson MTZ's, or any 1.55 tyre. Radically changes the look! Email out in a day or 2. Chris REC

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion
He says "Interferes a little with the cover." Ha! Jesus. It means you WILL have to hack your cover up, be warned. The dust shroud is a part of the tranny as it supports the center shaft: The cover does not allow use of screws that 'stick up', and you can't use a slot for the flathead screws or it only contacts 2 small points & will not hold. I know as I already dismissed doing a plate for these reasons, after much thought. I don't know this guy's history or if he's 'Somebody' to you guys, but his design ability is crap and he's trying to pawn off substandard pieces with that 'Interferes a little" BS. Take a pass, this is a rip-off (Unless you like hack cars.) Chris REC
