Wait, the Novak SS isn't a competition motor?
It needs to be legal for Vonats, but I'm also looking at local non-vintage club racing, so I need something with good performance.
Does the Novak SS give up any speed compared to newer motors? I think it will either be this motor or a d3.5.

i've had a couple of the $20 chinese mills and was less then impressed, like i said earlier they tend to come up short in the kv dept compared to the major brands and i could definetly tell the difference. .
we're talking about a mill for a Scorpion here... anything beyond mabuchi is already too much handling-wise...

LOL, i missed the scorpion part. reading>me
in that case you don't need a brushless motor, that car would run in the classics class with a handout tamiya black can brushed motor.
the sport tuned is a heck of a motor too, probably all a scorpion would ever need.

Well guys… you haven’t seen my Scorpion run with a LRP 2x17 V10 motor. And then I haven’t tuned it in properly, so it has much more to give.

Right. . . I forgot. That's a long way to come for a race, aren't there any in Sweden?
Anyway, how do SS and d3.5 compare?

Ones a year, and the Scorpion was the fastest 2WD by far… okay, the competition wasn’t that fears. It was only about 15-20 cars running.

I'm competing in 2wd buggy this year also, but I'm guessing a noob with a short-arm 6 gear shouldn't be too much of a threat.

It’s not all about winning so long my car performs nicely and I did my best as a driver. The biggest part in vintage racing is to meet all the guys that share the same interest I do and feel al the nice vintage cars.

i agree 100%, the vonats have nothing to do with winning and everything to do about having a great time. sure it's competitive to a point, but you'll never hear someone freak out or get all pissed.

Well I know the feeling, runner up is never fun. For my self’s its only trigger me to prepare better next time or simply let it go. I ended 3d in the last Swedish vintage race and that trigged me to plan for a new Scorpion built that I will try to beat the 4WD’s with.
I know it’s almost an impossible, but I will die trying…
