Re: RC10 B&R Sprint Car (Project) (02/18/12)
if that chassis isn't soldered, the brazing process itself should be no problem powder coating. brass and other brazing alloys melt in the 700 to 800 degree range at a minimum, usually more like 1200-1300 degrees, the powder coating ovens I think run up to like 450 degrees.
NOW, if the chassis is poorly brazed, holding the chassis at 450 degrees might break stressed joints due to the wire expanding.

You sure you want to start the whole "balls" thing again...? Especially with how you worded pulling out your "antenna"...nvxwax wrote:toyranosaur wrote:I did that when I was learning to drive R/C- It kept me from poking myself in the eye with the antenna (You 2.4 Ghz kids don't know how tough you hadda be in the early days....Chris REC

Re: RC10 B&R Sprint Car (Project) (02/18/12)
if you use those Losi Slider wheels the tires will be a little loose on them. The wheels are actually 2.1 diameter according to some of the places I found that actually put specs up on these while all along I thought they were 2.0. I do know that if you put the 2.0 step pin tire that losi still offers on a pair of those rims that the slider will no longer slidetoyranosaur wrote: I'm gonna use Pro-Line Road Rages 'cause they're my fave tyre.

I would not go the powder coat route, I looked into it and a member here that does it said the B&R chassis are brazed and it might fall apart in the baking process lol
That was me.

I honestly wouldn't want to risk the joints melting in some spots like jwscab mentioned. I usually pre-bake parts at 450-500 degrees for about 10 minutes, then bake after powdering at about 375-400 degrees for about 10-15 minutes.
