well, i thought i'd update this build with some new pics. i won a vintage tire lot on ebay a few days ago, and in it was a pr. of rear aj's. the sidewall profile is very similar to the photo i'm trying to replicate. much closer than the stock asc. tires. i also scored a real nice reedy modified for it a little while back.
and ya, i know. i still need to paint the body.

sweet Scr8p, paint that body
I'm anxious to see it finished, I think I'll paint an other one for mine, that orange stripe and the metallic blue are definitely not right... still waiting for some white Reedy decals and you?

Re: jay halsey replica (updated)
ya, it looks to be, and also a little taller. but, some things are hard to tell from a pic. i was gonna either have a grahite one made, or find an old composite craft one. but, i think i'm just gonna dye the one that's on it black. i didn't lighten or drill the chassis at all, so it's not really an exact copy anyway. it'll have the "look", though......................RichieRich wrote:Is the shock tower on Jay's car black?

Re: jay halsey replica (updated)
Hi there!
Dunno if these pics of Jay's car are posted somewhere else but they might be helpful in terms of the paintjob and maybe the front shocktower

Cheers

Jason, do you have white letters for the drivers side?
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.
