Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
Finally uploaded my shakedown run from last week. It actually handles really good on carpet! https://youtu.be/yvimCUvuU9s

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
Chassis 1506 reporting in.

Next to an original, the 40th is outstanding, really smooth suspension and gearbox - looks incredible.

Wasn't sure on this when I preordered it, after reading up on the 2013, and CC, but the 40th is the one to have, well done AE.

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
Looks great and I agree with your comments.
The 40th is very well made; parts are clean, precise and beautifully finished.
I was reluctant to order one at first but now I'm happy I did.
Mine is #2045.

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
Thanks! Glad you're enjoying #2045!
I was hoping more people would show off their builds in here, or make threads for them. I understand the body is a lot of work, and not everyone may be done with them yet - but I don't feel like if I've seen one chassis, I've seen them all - in this case.

I’ve been waiting on my window net material to show up. Dropped a Cadillac motor and NiCad pack in to give it some weight. Probably going to call it good enough.

Very Nice! If you don't mind, do you have a chassis pic, and #, you'd share?
Has #0054 been found yet?

I just had the same problemEmptyHand wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2024 1:28 pm Just noticed that one of my rear stub axles is NOT threaded while attempting to install the rear tire lock nut.
3 of the axles are threaded, this one is smooth.
I opened an AE service request for a new axle and roll pin... will keep everyone updated on what they say.
VERY annoyed as this was the final step in the build and here I am removing e-clips and a roll pin and probably waiting 3 weeks for parts.![]()

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
For a good second I thought you installed a screw and locknut through the battery holder for some reason.
That sucks though. I’m assuming that snapped someway easily?

Nah, for the picture I sent to AE I put it on the tray for clarity. Yes, was tightening it for the first time with a nut driver and snap.

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
I stared at it for a lot more than a second.

My initial thoughts:
"I know most of these are shelfers, but I didn't think those guys actually bolted them to the shelf. Oh wait....I see..."

AE sent me a replacement quickly but failed to send a roll pin even though i asked specifically for one. slightly annoyed. I ended up buying one myself to have a few spares.

AE said they’re sending me the parts out this week. Let’s see what they do.EmptyHand wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 2:03 pmOof… thats annoying.Brendan2904 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 8:08 pmI just had the same problemEmptyHand wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2024 1:28 pm Just noticed that one of my rear stub axles is NOT threaded while attempting to install the rear tire lock nut.
