i ususally feel the same way. but if going for a "period" type build, i don't remember anyone making woven rc10 shock towers back then except parma and hot trick. neither of which have the same weave pattern as the fusion tub.
the parma towers look kinda crappy, too. so do the hot trick towers for that matter.

I remember the chap from Fibre-Lyte coming into our shop to borrow car kits so he could measure the parts up and digitize them. I think the first one he took away was an original just released Tomy Intruder but I can't remember when that was, it must have been 1990 ish and I'm sure they had just started making RC car parts around then

Fusion Speed tub 1 piece, Fibre-Lyte chassis 2 piece like real RC10 tub chassis. I have the C/F F-L chassis coming in a week or 2 so I think I will ask them what the relationship with Com Com was.

They started in jan 1992 , they also made the Schumacher Bosscat chassis parts for the Schumacher company.
In that case I'm almost certain Martin was making car parts before Fiber-Lyte came to be. I think I was only 17-18ish around 1989-90 when he first came to the shop for help, it was definitely around the time of the Lazer ZX release, I guess once he realised there was a market he set the business up.

I'm a bit confused here. So guys, what kind of shock towers should I use? I was tinkering with the chassis yesterday and I just realised that because of the flat chassis, the front shock tower is now raised a bit and the front tubes don't line up anymore with the holes. Looks like my only option is to file that front shock tower, oh nooooooooooo... I also have a problem with the steering; I planned to use RPS/Losi steering bellcranks, but the Fusion Speed chassis is thinner than a regular one, which means I have to use some washers in order for the screws to actually fit tight enough, but then the bell cranks would hit the camber rods on the front shock tower... ooooh my

use a shorter screw for the steering bellcranks, like the ones you use for attaching a nose plate to a tub. that would help a little bit.
i had the same issue with the nose brace tubes on mine. the biggest problem is that they drilled the holes too low where they attach to the nose. i had to use the real small... thin 4-40 nuts, and massage the shock tower a little bit.
Yup, I also figured that shorter screws would help, but I will have to order them. I actually ran out of every single screw and I'm now stuck with most of my projects. I also noticed the front holes were drilled too low. Funny how every CF tub I've had in my hands so far had some tiny issues and needed some attention/modifications/massaging for everthing to fit perfectly. I guess it's just the mark of handcrafting

david, for me the looks would go over the period correctnes, so I would go with a weave pattern. But if you can find towers of the same period, or nearby, as the fusion speed tub you catch both flies in one clap
