Re: NIB Losi XX CR Kinwald Build
Stunning looking XX KW! Somehow I missed this the first time around - I love your attention to detail, this really is a first rate build. I'm interested to hear your thoughts on fitting the composite outdrives since i'm unsure if these were available at the time the XX was released? (they do look good though
) Likewise your shocks are the grey/green anodised type - as fitted to the first edition XXX - did these come with your Kinwald kit - The Kinwald XX I race has the regular black, hard anodised XX shocks.

Re: NIB Losi XX CR Kinwald Build
Thanks for the kind words. I wasn't aware that the composite outdrives were released later. I think they look nice (nicer that the stock black steel units) but I was never 100% about them. I have some lovely vintage Barracuda Ti outdrives that I was thinking of swapping in. Maybe I should...DerbyDan wrote: ↑Wed Jan 23, 2019 7:01 am Stunning looking XX KW! Yes, these are the shock bodies that came in the kit. I broke the seal myself. I am glad, because I much prefer them to the standard black bodies.
I have more vintage aftermarket pieces I am thinking of adding to this buggy, but I also want to keep it relatively stock looking. First world problems man, lol.

Re: NIB Losi XX CR Kinwald Build
I will be using a second set of OEM decals on a TBG body. I will be keeping the OG body and decals safely inside the original box. I still need to get this thing painted.

Really cool to see these cars like that side to side. Always been a bigger fan of small colored parts in cars. Blacked out isn't bad in my opinion. But everyone seems to do that.

Re: NIB Losi XX CR Kinwald Build
I corrected a couple of small details. Kinwald would run gold e-clips. I have never been able to find the larger 1/8" e-clips in gold until the other day at a hardware store.
I now have all the correct gold e-clips, and I also added the brighter colored gold nuts to the outer front arms.

Re: Losi XX CR Kinwald NIB Build
I know realise the significance of the 22 5.0, so cool to see it next to the original Kinwald. Tempted to grab one also...

Re: Losi XX CR Kinwald NIB Build
Yup, I was watching that one too.
Thing is as soon as the cellophane is torn off to open the box, most of those $$$’s completely disappear. My guess is that someone has bought that to sit on, and then to resell at some point in the future.
