I don't own anything nitro, but I've wanted to race with them. How funny would it be to show up with something like this.
"What is that, an RC10GT?"
"nope... just a regular 10T"

That little exhaust hose looks like it was made for that job :)
That would be great if you showed up with a truck like this and smoked them. Don't let them see what's under the body until after they lose so it will be more of a shock.

When I went to pick up the linkage collars I saw the exhaust deflector thing and knew it would be perfect. I didn't like how it was angled when pointing down and without the tube it was pointing almost right at the rear shock

They allow electric trucks to race as well, as long as they aren't running insane brushless, and seeing as I'm switching down from 13.5T to 17.5T in my 10T, I'll probably end up racing with them anyway. We'll see how I do, but summer is a long ways away!
It would look awesome to make another "more perfect" motor mount and then anodize it, you could probably play it off like it was some super rare production kit ;)

Seems a shame to cut such a nicely painted 10t body to fit a conversion, but I guess there were no GT bodies when that came out!

The holes look great, pretty much the same "p" shaped holes I made but yours are sharper. Looks awesome

Yep it had to be done. No going back now  body must go with the truck wherever it might go.

I wanted to take out as little as possible. The knife slipped on the leg of the one "P" after I cleaned it up I had to make it symmetrical. Sat it on there and realized it was way more than i wanted.

Here’s an update post to show where the truck is now that it’s back in my possession. I’ve already changed out the factory CZ-r head for a used Duratrax piece. I have a few more things I’d like to upgrade eventually but it will stay mostly as-is.

The original goal for the truck was to envision what could’ve been made (cheaply) to run in early nitro stadium truck races before kits and conversions were mainstream. Having knowledge of the kits that were put into production I tried to not copy things from those kits and do my own thing, which is hillbilly modify some scrap aluminum into makeshift mounts and stiffeners.

Here’s the inspiration for the body board member Vintagemishal on here painted for me. He used to do a killer job on every body I sent him. Forever thankful for great work he’s done.

Skinny tires and cut windows. Now it needs a windshield banner to cover up the scratch I made.
