Just to be clear
The arms mounted on Ralphee´s (24-08-12) pictures are ot-69, which in optima terms, are the original arms for the TURBO Optima and the MID series.
The Original suspension arms for the Optima is OT-13.

Re: Optima MKI restore!
I think ralphee's front arms are for a Mid. Here are Turbo Optima front arms, where the stabs mount differently. Both are different from original Optima arms as they have webbing to make them stronger. The Mid arms have that weird hole in the webbing where a captured ball is mounted for the stabs. I don't know if Kyosho remanufactured Turbo Optima arms to make them work for a Mid and kept the part number or if the Mid got completely different arms & part number, though...DennisM wrote:Just to be clear![]()

Re: Optima MKI restore!
I see it the way You do, Ralphee´s arms are MID specific due to the vertical mount hole for the stabilisator which is mounted differently on the Turbo Optima. They share the same part number though, OT-69.Coelacanth wrote:I think ralphee's front arms are for a Mid. Here are Turbo Optima front arms, where the stabs mount differently. You build is looking awesome!
This was my second R/C. I still have it in parts at my parents house. I gotta get back over one day and get that thing so I can start a rebuild. I painted it up just like the box art, but it looks like a 13 year old painted it, which he did. lol

My bodyshell arrived today. Really happy with how it all turned out, and the color matching. This is ALL paint BTW, no vinyl striping.

Wow that paint is so neat! Seriously I struggle with paint on this body, especially box art.
Great project you have going and can't wait to see the final product.

Fantastic paint job, fair doos! Are you allowed to tell us how much a custom paint job like that would set you back? The finished product is going to look fab.

Thanks guys, hoping to get some more done soon, TBH, the main want now is a set of new wheels in white, failing that, i may take the chrome plate off the NIP Turbo rims i fitted, just need tyres to arrive for those mind.
Sheriff, contact RCX Graphix worx.......youll get a quote that will surprise for sure.......in a good way!
More pics to come hopefully over the weekend lads, seeing as i have both my new bodyshells, i may cancel my other modeling plans, and get these buggies a bit closer to done.

Re: Optima MKI restore!
Well, its fitted, the front cut outs got a little big, i screwed up my marking, but its not so bad, not an easy shell to fit by any means, at least, not for me, but its neat and tidy. Still a few bits to do yet, but its getting there.
