I went through this struggle. I used the Losi Strike 12MM hexes with a zero offset rim. I still fit the 10" max width and had no rubbing on the links. Worst case you can add spacers between the links and the rear hub to push the links in a bit.

I honestly dont know what car they are from. I posted a "Want to buy zero off set 12mm buggy rims" on another site and a guy sent me 3 sets. I tried to find out what they were from and I BELIEVE they were off the HPI Brama (or whatever their 1/10th scale 4wd buggy is) but I'm not 100% sure.

Try using spacers between your rear hubs and the links. That could be enough to get rid of any rubbing.

I have zero rubbing now, and a little room to breathe. I will try shorter hexes (was looking at the 22 1.5 mm + ones) and see how that goes. I am happy with the car right now, but want to bullet proof it a little better & get my 22 front wheel conversion done (ordered most the parts I needed already).

So, with a little guidance from a fellow racer, I found an off the shelf part to convert the front end to use 22 wheels, rear was really easy as well. No loss in track width either

So, for the rear:

Traxxas Slash rear hex, 5 link arms spaced in, low profile nuts (just to be safe):

for the front:

Kyosho part # LA254, carriers (hinge pin hole needs an ever so slight reaming for stock pins).
Losi part # TLR1068, front axles
Losi part # TLR1067, kingpin screws
Losi part # TLR1069, front wheel nuts
Losi part # TLR1061, trailing steering knuckles
4 metric wheel bearings, 3mm button head screw

Dont mind the camber, I didnt take the time to set it:

nice work, that tower will be on the way today. I get why you want to run those rims but you might want to rethink the color? sorry

the 22 comes with yellow rims, so all mine are yellow, for now :)

I really like the DE racing wheels, the fake beadlock edges on them sets them apart. My next full set of wheels/tires will be those.

I did get a splash of yellow into the orange/white on my 22 so the wheels arent so far out of place :)

With the help of Bear, got my SE/Jammin front tower in and on...so I'm sitting there, I've done the 22 wheel conversion front/rear, why not go all the way-my 22 big bore shocks are just staring at me...well 1/2 hour later, a few different spacers and toss the H arms on (to make the transition easy)...

Image

Sorry for the cell phone pic and dirty car/tires, hey, I race this car :)

The body DOES rub those big ole' monsters in the back though. I bet a stock X2 body would clear those shocks (it flares around the stock ones, the Pro body doesnt).

tearing the car down, cleaning it up and putting the slipper into the tranny. Putting the stock shocks (well changing to hard annod from the stock silver originals) back on after a rebuild and the 5 link parts back on there...my 22 was feeling naked without its shocks.

I will do the big bore conversion, just not right now.

TLR-22 is headed for mod buggy duty and the JRX-22 is sticking to stock duty for now (blinky mode).

I think I want to find an X2 body, I like the way the body flares over the rear shocks. The Pro body does rub the rear shocks (it was really bad with the big bores on there). I would like to figure out a better wing mounting set up, the old wire set up is bugging me, I am spoiled I guess.

Been a while since I posted about this car...

Removed the 22 wheel conversion, the steering geometry was way out of whack. Went back to running B4 style wheels (LXT front carriers/axles). I have H arms on it now, but have the 5 link parts ready to drop on. I went to MF2 rear axles and spacers, put the rear width to match the 22 perfectly. I have put an Mtroniks brushless system in there, with a 380 sized 4400kv motor (soft on the bottom end, but plenty quick).

Ready for war tomorrow, not sure if I will race it, but it will see track time, maybe I will run one qualifier of 2wd Mod with it for giggles :)

and the 22 is ready also

I took it out to my local outdoor track for some running. The little 380 sized brushless system is just amazing, so fast and easy to drive.

The car was jumping really odd and I wasnt happy with the way the car was handling, so I put the 5 link back on, and BAM....there was the car I know and love. Soooo easy to drive, jumped sooooo much better. Gobs of steering (partially due to poor rear tires) and soaked up the bumps like nobodys business.

The track has a challenging double/double section, the faster 4wd short course trucks can triple/single the area, and for a couple laps in a row, I did the same :) . Third attempt ended in disaster, busted the 5 link upright (front triangle portion) and demolished a rear wheel.

I will tear the car down, clean it up and shoot some pictures (after the repair), to show the current state of the car. Some fresh tires are in order, and a complete shock rebuild. They feel okay, but could feel better.

Updates later in the week.
