Ah, good idea. I should have thought of that.

Lower the bellcranks by flipping the "post" that they sit on upside down ( think of the shoulder on the top instead of the bottom ) and use the AE .20 Black low profile ball studs- then you should have no clearance issues and it should rotate free as a bird-

The Post? They sit in flanged bearings with a little hollow metal rod in there to make the diameter of the bearings go down to the diameter of the screws. There Isn't really anything to flip.

Got the steering done and got the b44 cva's off ebay for $17 new. Body and tires are ordered. Only thing really left to do is mount the body and wing and put electronics in it. Should be ready to hit the track soon.

Also would this slipper setup fit? Steering is done. Trimmed it down to sit lower and used some smaller ball cups on the inner steering turnbuckles.


B44 cva's fit perfectly. Just waiting on the b4 slipper setup to come.

What axle blocks are using on those cva's? Could you use stock ones with those?

really trying to resist that same conversion...but with the axles so cheap and the __blank__blank__ TT wheels mail order only...I may just bite the bullet to do this.

So...SC10 rear carriers, B44 front CVAs, and correct sized bearings. (the SC10 rear carriers didnt need reaming, right?)

I'm not sure if they're the same as the sc10. But I know these are the carriers now found on the t4 and b4. They needed the hinge pin hole drilled out to 1/8in but that's it. B44 rear cva's, bearings, and the axle spacers (not pictured b/c I don't have them yet).

The stock carriers wouldn't work b/c the bushing has a pretty big inner diameter, the stock universals have pretty thick axles. But I suppose you could use different bearings but I wouldn't know for sure.

those bones sure look to be awful deep in the outdrive. do you have a stack of shims on the backside of the hub? if so, i'd get rid of them and get the b4 wheel spacers for the outside.

did you use front CVAs or rear CVAs? The fronts are shorter than the rears.

What did you use to mount steering on to make tight and pivot smooth..spacer.bushing bearing?????

b44 rears. front are way too long.

Soncho, when I did the conversion, I drilled out some 3/16" tubing to fit over the #8 screw.

this tubing is supposed to be the right ID and OD for the bearings and screws, just cut to desired length:

I did what jwscab said.

The cva's weren't spaced right in the pictures. They sit a little farther out. They are a teeny bit long and don't let the rear shock compress the last 1/8", but I doubt I"ll ever need or use that extra 1/8" of travel.
