Re: Jamin's Losi XX-CR - Another shiny motor plate!
I'm thinking of building a runner to race at the club but I don't have any parts left so it would be a costly build to do, electronics notwithstanding. We'll see.DerbyDan wrote:No - I haven't started building the new car yet..... but in my mind (and with the parts that I keep finding/buying) it's constantly evolving, trying to always keep it as true to my old car, but it seems with parts I would have brought if funds were less tight.
This does however mean that there are some parts that I have brought that I'm now not going to use, like the newer style machined motorplate, so along with these parts & the aquisition of a NIP graphite chassis - there might be another build on the cards!
Shame about the adhesive on your XX decals - I had a similar thing with a couple of sticker sheets that I scored for my TopCat build - was really chuffed to find them, even though they cost a reasonable sum, but when I came to use them they were just so hard to remove from the backing paper that in some places the paper couldn't be removed at all
Can't wait to see your build, should be good. Are there any unusual parts going on it?

It certainly isn't cheap/easy to build a whole car from individual parts... its all those little bits that you forget about... hingepins, screws, ball joints etc! I've got a half decent 2nd used car that I will use to donate all these bits

Sounds good either way, don't forget also the cost of postage for all those individual packets to arrive on your doorstep, a few quid here and there soon mounts up!DerbyDan wrote: ... mmm we'll seeI think it might end up quite similar to LosiXXKid's graphite buggy build? Everything seems to be end-of line stuff, so i'm going to go with that philosphy - newer logo graphite chassis/rear tower/rear arms, grey-green anodised shock bodies, CR rear end, Fibrelyte shock tower & carbon brace & last but not least, a later style motor plate

I thought about building my NIB Kinwald and then racing my current shelfer, but only for a couple of seconds until I came to my senses!!!

Very kind of you dood - I'm having a think, it's gonna cost me a fair bit as I'll need electronics too, so don't wanna commit just yet. But thanks!slapshot1979 wrote:Jamin send me a PM if you want to build a runner. Ive got lots of parts. Should be able to work something out

I happened to notice that there are nearly 10,000 views to this thread so after a little research driven by my curiosity, it would appear that it is the most viewed thread on the Losi forum!
In second place and not far behind is Dan with this thread...

Old Losi 2WD vs. new Losi 2WD.......what an interesting juxtapostion.

Ha, that's cool I didn't realise that. There has been a fair few discussions on this thread so I don't think its completely down to the build itself. But I'll take itLosiXXkid wrote:I happened to notice that there are nearly 10,000 views to this thread so after a little research driven by my curiosity, it would appear that it is the most viewed thread on the Losi forum!![]()

Once I find some quick-tune shock mounts I could update this build some more

I not 100% sure as I haven't looked into it just yet but I think your XX4 build thread is in third place......or at least it's very close!

You are correct, here's the top 20 or so....
Quite pleased that most of my builds seem quite popular, I must be doing something right!

There must be some small detail with this build that you've overlooked surely,.....

Re: Jamin's Losi XX-CR - Old Skool Pics
The other day I stumbled across some old skool (90's) photos of my XX in various evolutions of livery and thought it would be cool to share them. I should of used one of these pics to do a replica - Jammin shell anyone?
The shell with the 'Team Losi' logo reversed was actually painted - I cut out masks for each letter - yes I had that much time on my hands!
