Not really a fan of the plastic co-axial driveshafts. The old-school alloy driveshafts are unique to the Cougar 2000 & were replaced after a year because they fell apart or bent easily. Car's got to have shiney alloy

that chassis is awesome... i'd love to have one...as far as the drive shafts go, i made newer ones for my storm 2000... i crimped the thin tubing.. took out the ends ... bought thick walled aluminum tubing and had them adonized purple then used threadlock to reassemble the drive shafts...i'll post pics by this weekend

I had an idea that would look ace with this tub...I was going remove the alloy tubing from those driveshafts, & bond the ends on to woven carbon fibre tubing, possibly using cut up TC3 centre driveshafts. Think it will work?

it should...you should try mcmaster-carr for the graphite tubes...they have everything =)

I would choose the color in function of the body paint.
If you got a fishermen's club or heli-flyers in the neigbourhood you might find some cheap tubing from them, older stuff or crashed (happens a lot for the heli's, less for the fishermen )

photo-tips:
- most important: no old fashioned flowery table covers
- serious: the contrast between the light colour background and dark plastic and graphite parts is too big. Try a darker colour background and the details of the subject will come out better.
- don't flash straight onto the white background, (better, don't flash at all, but probably others here won't agree )
- use a camera stand for long shutter times, or support the camera in some other way
- or use more light on the subject
- check if you have a macro function on your camera

maybe this sounds jerky, but honestly I'm just trying to help you a little.

As for the Storm 2000 truck, I never actually believed these existed until a couple of years back-they must be rare? I have one now and a pile of spares too. I just removed my Mamba Max and 7700kv set up and was thinking of selling it but maybe I should just run it? I wanted to ask what motor and gearing you are running? Does it do well on the track? Your thoughts would be appreciated. Cheers-Jason.

The Storm 2000 is rare, I believe it was only on sale for about a year. This is mine - I bought it without really knowing what it was. Like Bormac I wasn't sure for a few years if they really existed or if this was an aftermarket conversion.

I've never seen a Storm 2000 box - any idea what the artwork/photo looked like?

I have a Storm2000 box and its near perfect condition. Probably quite rare to find one now days though. I'll get some pics up in a day or so.

i still have my box too...i'll try to get some pics up this week...as far as gearing goes...i'm running a 13 double with a 83 spur and 19 or 20 tooth pinion
