Rear A arms, drive shafts and a bunch of turnbuckles tonight!

Rear A Arms in.
Image

I built the shafts per the instructions: 3 shims and the blue spacer on the outside (flat side out). We'll see once shocks and tires are on if the whole 'about to fall out' syndrome is happening on my car or not then.

Rear turnbuckles:

Front turnbuckles and steering turnbuckles:

3D Printed a nifty shock stand. The holes are actually a bit large for the shocks, but it still helped keep them organized and upright for filling with oil.

Battery tray in, wheels and tires on!

I couldn't stop there, so I threw all the electronics in temporarily:

Overhead view. Yes, I adjusted that Toe In!
Image

I realized that I had put the front shocks in the Inner mount, so I moved them to the outer. Brought the front end down quite nicely!
Image

I had picked up a set of RPM's nifty Toe In and Camber Gauges. Very handy and easy to use!

Next up will be properly mounting the electronics, and soldering in the ESC and Motor connections. Then, she'll be ready for some test runs!

Body trimmed, painted, decals on!

Rough trim. I went ahead and put in the holes for the pin posts, but uh...well, the front diff pushes the front end up. And the back post looks like it needs another spacer or two to be high enough. I'll probably patch those holes somehow (I have some lexan with the purple paint from tests, so probably use a little of that) and I'll attach the body with velcro.

Head on, up slightly:

Back. (That stripe across the back was a bit tricky to line up. I did...okay)

Paint used was:

Tamiya Spray Metallic Purple
Tamiya Spray Translucent Yellow
Decals are what came in the box, which is the 40th Anniversary sheets and the 4WD sheet.

I went with purple and the yellow windows as a nod to my original RC10 Championship Car, which was Yellow with purple 'van halen' stripes.
