I've started shooting with a buddy that just joined a sportsman's club and in addition to the pistol & rifle ranges they have there they also have a 3d archery range. I'm kind of kicking around the idea of maybe buying a bow again because of that.

Have you ever tried duracoating your own rifle/pistol parts? I built a pcc rifle last year and was going to have it creacoted but I ended up reading up on Duracoat and bought the kit for that and did it myself to see how it compared to creacote. It's been about 6-7 months so far, and it still looks like the day I coated it, which kind of surprised me. So far it seems like a lower cost alternative to creacote that you can do yourself, if you ever want to give it a try look into it.
Shooting archery is so much fun, and a real stress relief. You have to mind your body position and breathing. It's also amazing how accurate you can be with a modern bow and lots of practice.

Great suggestion on the duracoat. I will look into it.

That was my impression. I had to put the wood grips on mine.

Did your's come absolutely drowning in oil/lube? I'm not sure if Rock Island does that with all their guns, but holy crap I have never seen so much lube on a new gun in my life. They must have submerged it in a bucket of oil before they put it in the bag

I can’t remember too well how it came. I didn’t even handle it in the store. I just pointed at it and said I’d take it. Sometimes it’ll be months before I get a first shot in on a new gun.

For some reason I just had a thought of Steve's gun room and that I miss that guy being around.

Yeah, I thought of him as well a while ago with the obtaining of my father's old rifle. He was a carryover from ClodTalk, and then got out of the hobby.
