Always something going on here. Latest project I have been working on late at night after rod work is expanding the gun room again. After expanding it twice in the past year I finally said the hell with it and just making the entire basement the gun room. Still have a lot to do and waiting on some stuff to show up yet, but it's shaping up pretty well now. Lots of work, and my body is showing me I am not as young as I use to be for sure. Will have room for at least a dozen new rifle builds and numerous pistols so this should be the last expansion needed.
Also will be doing another lil project and adding a 2nd reinforced door to the room. Already have steel doors and few other things but figure a 2nd reinforced door would also be a good idea.
LOL too funny man. Well, this time I finally brought it upstairs. I have it set to make coffee every morning at 8am, and I always have to go downstairs to get a cup. But I tell ya what, now I'm starting to feel my age since I am 51 now, so I figured I'd finally bring it upstairs so I don't have to walk stairs soon as I wake up every morning. Age creeps up on us all I guess
Rest of the flooring came today along with the other items I was waiting for so between rod work I was able to get most of the remodel done finally. Which is good because I'm gettin too old for this s#@$ , maybe my back will finally start feeling better now that I'm done.
Took the bullpup 12g with me the last two range days. Hit 100rds through it today so its fully broken in now and cycling like a champ. Put 50 slugs through it today. This thing kicks like a sunofabicth that's for sure. Not sure if its just because its a bullpup/18" barrel or what, but damn it has much more recoil than my other 12g's. After about two mags today it actually killed my red dot. Might just put some Magpul flip up's on it then if its gonna be a red dot killer. The dot I had on it was not a bottom of barrel one, but not a high end on either. I don't mind dropping $150 or so on another, but not if its just gonna kill it as well.
Been wanting a revolver that was a bit bigger caliber than the only other revolver in my collection for a while now. Prices of 357-44's has just gone nuts lately, but came across this 38 for a price that was just too good to say no too. Picked it up yesterday from the FFL and already put 50rds through it. Worth every penny I paid for it, it's gonna be a fun range toy and a nice change to thrown into the mix of semi auto pistols I usually shoot.
Finished up the 16" 300blackout built over the weekend. Put the first rds through it yesterday and it fires very nicely. Can see myself taking this one to the range with me on a regular basis.
Making a dedicated gun room is next level commitment. Very cool project. All of your projects are so impressive.
I too am have a bit of a gun addiction. My pride and joy is this Nemo Arms 300 win mag semi auto w/ NightForce BEAST scope. It can really reach out and touch someone. 1,000 yard shots like pressing a button.
I also like to modify Glock and other polymer frames. A few are waiting on creacote.
I don't hunt but love to target shoot. I also do a fair amount of bow shooting. This picture shows a 80 yard Robinhood.
Nice collection there Lavigna. I use to really love to shoot archery as well just for the enjoyment of it but haven't shot a bow in probably 25 yrs now. I've started shooting with a buddy that just joined a sportsman's club and in addition to the pistol & rifle ranges they have there they also have a 3d archery range. I'm kind of kicking around the idea of maybe buying a bow again because of that.
Have you ever tried duracoating your own rifle/pistol parts? I built a pcc rifle last year and was going to have it creacoted but I ended up reading up on Duracoat and bought the kit for that and did it myself to see how it compared to creacote. It's been about 6-7 months so far, and it still looks like the day I coated it, which kind of surprised me. So far it seems like a lower cost alternative to creacote that you can do yourself, if you ever want to give it a try look into it.
