Kinda messed up on the parts because I was using ReRe parts as the goal, when in reality, the ReRe parts are a bit more green than original parts cleaned up. Oh well, the Turmeric works great, but isn't really dyeing the plastic as much as putting a surface on it, so it can be rubbed back to a certain degree.

So, old parts are hydrated and lightened, and new parts are darkened. Far from perfect, but good enough. Almost time to build a car!

Had a lot of setbacks today on the build, with the first being printing the trans adapter plate for another vehicle. Then after that seemed like one step forward, two steps back, but overall forward progress was made. Had a couple of issues with the steering knuckles so borrowed some from a parts car to make it work, but they haven't been whitened so they look a little out of place. Once I get into working on the body, I may pull them off and peroxide them for a couple of days.

I have been reminded that I really love the freedom of print heavy builds! Run into an obstacle, design around it and print the solution. So much easier than researching the correct part, ordering it, and waiting for it to arrive.

Have to build shocks and work out a few things, but the chassis should be done sometime tomorrow.

edit: removed picture. noticed a mistake on the build and will post back up when corrected

Well, got most of the chassis finished up this afternoon. Still have a couple of obstacles in my way, but I will work them out. :)

I really wanted a nicely finished diff gear cover, but I couldn't find any that are mirrored of the original, so had to print one. It looks a bit too printed, but hopefully it will do for now.

Another issue I have right now is that the driveshafts are too long. Not shockingly as I only widened the rear 5mm on each side, and the shafts are 10mm longer, but they seemed to work great throughout the mock up process. But once everything was together, they jammed up everything. Need to find an alternative.

The biggest f-up though is that I must have made a last minute length adjustment to the trans / bulkhead adapter, moving everything forward a few millimeters. In itself, not a big deal, but I had already fit the body and cut post holes. Not sure how I am going to get all that lined up at this point. New day with new eyes will hopefully resolve that quickly.

I also still need to revisit the front wheel / tire issue. The three piece combo does not "lock" the tire in place like they do in the rear. I am hoping just printing some wider inner rings will take care of that.
