Re: A&L CUSTOM TEAM TRUCK #5 OF 5
Looking good Mike!
See it went all back together without any "whats this fit text". LOL
The chassis were actually really stiff and strong - I was a horse power freak back in the day and never broke a chassis. In fact pretty sure non of the chassis' ever broke. The bottom of the front kick up got thin on one or two when the drivers did not apply a milar film to the bottom.
Still looking for the R/C action with the Winter Nats event we first raced with the trucks.

I want to say the West Coast Winter Nats (Fl.) were in February??
So the issue with the coverage might be as late as May? Way to many miles on the odometer..
Ok looked some more - RC10T was released 1991 so the first time raced would have been either the 1990 or 1991 Winter Championships, Cliff, Curtus and an Associated driver from Az drove prototypes at that race for the first time.

Awesome truck with great history! I love your tire choice too. Those Pro 45 fronts & Pro 90s were what was on the box art for the 7001 10Ts, and are a pretty rare tire set.

ok well now the truck is done for good! i added the correct motor like in the add pic, found a more correct kinda lol front bumper/body mount by A&L, and added the battery cups. i also changed a few parts to make more correct.

There is nothing better than one-off, hand made race stuff!!! Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Now we just need to see some video of it running

That truck, and its brethren, were dominant in the right hands...and damn sexy too! Regularly raced against A&L converted cars in my early days and the trucks later on

Thank you for documenting this build. I found #2 in pieces in the garage, I'll start seeing if I can get it all back together. Not sure if everything is there and I've got some other projects to do first, but now I at least know what car that is.

These old Trucks are so much cooler than any of the modern stuff.
