Thats good info to know. I was starting to collect B4 slipper parts to make the conversion on one of my cars too but I didn't know about a spacer either. Thanks

I scored two spacers at my track this past weekend. $2 each. Now to find time to do this, lol!

I'm not trying to say that Bully is incorrect, but that large "spacer" is a crush tube for the inside of the B4 transmission that keeps the pressure from a fully tightened case on the inner race of the bearing. It may act the same on the outside, but it may push the slipper out further as well-

I've run 4 different transmissions over the past 3 years with the B4 shaft and the V1 slipper, V2 slipper and the VTS and never had these issues aside from internal spacers required on the shaft.

You DO need the crush tube guys. I've had exactly the same issues on my T3. There is a post on that topic. (sorry to hack your post MayorRC).

My guess is that the B4 topshaft underwent minor changes recently. Now you need the crush tube to get the right distance between the gearbox housing and the inner slipperplate. I also had to drill out my gearbox in order to let the crush tube rest on the bearing inside the case. Work's fine btw!

Will try take pic of finished tranny, but in theory an three i have done so far if you open case up for spacer or crush tube it should be the same as b4 trans dimensions from rear bearing to front of crush tube(bearing in the b4 box) so you end up with same offset of spur..

I can't tell for the rc10 because I don't have one (YET!). On the b2/b3/t2/t3 it works perfectly, just like on the b4/t4

Thanks for this info, my v2 slipper install was fast and straightforward. Drilled out the case slightly and used he spacer and it worked perfectly. I did the upgrade and can say it was worth the for $21... $10 new slipper/spur/plate/cover from an SC10 and $9 for the top shaft, $2 for the spacer. Easy install

Just wondering I have 3 rc10's running the b4 top shaft with no issues with rubbing.lucky maybe?I am not using the spacer and one setup is with the rouge case.if I do not have any rubbing with the slipper plate I do not need the spacer correct? Also I wanted to try the mip aluminum top shaft but the would have required me turning the shaft to eliminate the built in spacer part.so if I open the stealth case this will allow me to run the mip shaft or even the avid setup with no issues right?and in anyones personal experiences is the multiple disk clutch setup worth the money?I do run brushless power and a set of aluminum outdrives I just made and experimenting with to see the longevity with before I offer them for sell. Any help would be great. Thanks guys.
