I have been looking for a SWB Optima Mid undertray online and cant seem to find anything, does anyone make one.

I know the SWB Mid never came with an undertray from new but a friend 20 years ago once bought a secondhand Mid and it had an undertray...

I got a lot of Optima Mid parts I have amassed since 1990 to 1992, which I still have until today. Seeing so many people building SWBs, I have gotten an itch too.

This was a small sample of my parts bin, putting together my brother's Turbo Optima...

cheap heatsink that I got from the local electronics store, seems there was a tapped hole already drilled into the motor plate, just had to find a long enough M3 screw,and put some heat conductin paste, voila ! No need litesink !
I have one each now...

So I haven't tried to completely redo everything but my hardcase lipos don't fit into the battery area.

Has anyone solved this dilemna?

For comparison
Using Orion lipo 3200 you still have space to put foam/insert to protect the battery from battery holder during rough ride.

mmmh... in my memories the Orion 3200 didn't have a red sticker... or did it?

Hi guys,

I paused my restore projects for awhile and worked on my Optima Mid runner project. I have chosen to build my runner based on the SWB platform. I want a shorter car because of the layout of our local track.

Belive it or not, it took me over 4 hour to make theese parts and they are not even ready yet :(

I am an RC10 guy, but always liked the Ultima and Optima series that Kyosho produced. I don't know much about them though. I always wanted a 4wd buggy since the later 80s, but never did end up with one.
