Re: Optima restoration-lots of pics - and now a Turbo as well
Mega bump of my thread here. Years ago, I received a basket case Turbo as part of a motorcycle sale, and finally decided to crack into rebuilding it. As a bonus, although missing a few parts, this had the Option House belt drive conversion installed

It came with a set of proper wheels on the rear, and what look like Tamiya Hotshot wheels on the front, luckily I had 1 pair of original new wheels already

Re: Optima restoration-lots of pics - now a Turbo as well
A bit of effort and work on those dirty old wheels, and they came out pretty good imho. I had a set of OT66 tyres that have had a little bit of running on them, but will well and truely be sufficient for this project

Re: Optima restoration-lots of pics - now a Turbo as well
I have a few Kyosho LeMans Motors that I’ve gathered over the years, and decided that this one will be going into the Turbo, it just needs brushes, springs, and leads

Re: Optima restoration-lots of pics - now a Turbo as well
I think I ordered a repro body for the Turbo at the same time as I ordered the Optima one from MarwanRC. If not at the time, sometime soon after, as it’s been in the parts cupboard for a long time. Now having these 2 chassis complete sitting on the shelf motivated me to get the bodies completed

Re: Optima restoration-lots of pics - now a Turbo as well
Thanks for the positive comments, yes those are photos of my actual bodies, painted by JA Designs here in my home city. I’ve found the Turbo body a little small, and fitting it was a bit of an issue. I’ll get the pics of them mounted up posted later today, rest assured, I’m more than happy with how these 2 original cars have turned out

Re: Optima restoration-lots of pics - now a Turbo as well
Don’t mind my gratuitous multiple angle pics, I’m just really excited how these cars look, sitting on their pedestals alongside my Turbo Mid SE, is really satisfying

That´s certainly a nice pair
I know You haven´t asked my opinion, but next time, please make sure to ROUND those innner corners, when You fit the body
