I know this is a really old thread but how did the guy you purchased the car from get Curtis Husting's painted body in the first place? Just wondering?
Remember it's either a runner or a shelfer. Everything else is just parts.

They were included in some of the early kits.

WOW, that's one of the best score's I've seen in a long time. Some guys get nice finds, but this one is on a whole nuther level.

I never knew Curtis painted any bodies, let alone some from the early batch of production cars. Jeez. I'm sure most were trashed and thrown away. That body alone needs to be hidden away, hopefully with the car too.

I have never heard of that?

I would guess the guy bought the painted body at the Hobby Store when he bought the car. AE was selling painted bodies back in the 70's

Maybe I'm wrong, just assumed that was the case.

Someone call Curtis and find out.

Gawd, if I could find someone these days to custom paint my RC bodies for twenty eight bucks, I'd be all over that. Yeh, yeh, yeah, I know about inflation, but man it still sounds cheap.

I wonder what Curtis means about "production" painted bodies? Were there jigs of some sort to knock out 50 bodies in one style? He couldn't have taped every-single-one, that would have taken an eternity, and driven you mad.
