Just remember that you're only looking to remove the high spots that result from the molding process, you definitely don't want to over do this.
Green slime? You could try it certainly but I used the Hydra-Drive fluid as per the XX build instructions - pay attention to the large thin 'O' ring that sits between the two housing halves and be sure to seat it correctly using a light smear of the HD fluid to keep it in place.
Also, when you are tightening up the eight housing screws just snug them up first and always do opposites so start at 12 o'clock and then go to 6 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 9 o'clock etc.. When they are all done go round again and tighten them all down in the same 'opposites' manner as before - just don't overtighten them!
Follow the rest of the instructions and take your time and you should end up with a well built Hydra-Drive.
