Just to add a tiny bit to this thread, my parents counter top still to this day has a couple of dime sized faint grey spots from a sloppy drop into a pot of black Rit around 1990. Maybe I should give them a kitchen remodel for Xmas.

Nah, too much work. We all know how hard it is to match old dye. I ask my wife at least once a day: "Hey how come the carpet doesn't match the drapes??"
Meh, she loves it...

Best to do it outside. I've found spots all over the kitchen left from droplets of water that have steamed off. On another note I did ruin a box of mac and cheese from using a pot I did'nt clean well enough.

You should have eaten it! Then you and your RC10 would always have that "Special bond".
I just went to the dollar store, and bought a crappy little pot. It works like a charm.
Heck, go to Good Will, or Salvation Army and find an even nicer one.
To add to the funny stories, i was dying some parts (from my sledgehammer i think) in the microwave just to try it once. it didn't work out. something "popped" and i just about shat myself when i realized at that moment that some wasn't coming out in a few spots. i did eventually get it all out except right above the "epicenter" i think nobody has noticed it. I've never heard mention of it at least.
