A hair dryer and tweezers are usually all I need, 90% of the time. Using heat to lift stickers, the adhesive is usually melted and comes right off with the sticker. Rarely will there be adhesive residue left behind, except a few cases with really prehistoric stickers.

I like motor spray to remove decals. Peel best as possible and use motor spray to remove the residue. Motor spray also does wonders on removing double sided tape or servo tape!

I just bought an old Blackfoot to restore and was wiondering what is the best way to remove the old decals prior to a paint job?

Please help me figure out how to get the paint off of this body without destroying it in the process. Painted on inside.

P.S. Is this an original RC10 body?

What do you think? I got a rc10t2 off ebay, that is in ok shape, but the ESC is attatched to the Chassis with JB weld!

So, does anyone know of a way to remove JB weld. All I can think of is hitting it with a chisel. The ESC works, it just looks...

I've got this Corally graphite chassis that i'm trying to clean up. Unfortunately it's got a fair bit of superglue near the cell trays and someone has glued a piece of lexan to the front part too. What i'd like to know is: Is it safe to use acetone...

I took my RC10 graphite chassis to work today to clean the glue and left over double sided tape off...I used a product called Dykem layout blue remover to get it all off....It worked great.

anyone here removed the gold anodizing from a gold tub? i've use easy/off to take anodizing off other rc stuff but the rc10 tubs look a little more durable. i dont' think it'll come off as easily and cleanly. maybe some sort of paint stripper is in...

Does anyone have any tried and true methods for saving old parts like these? Not concerned with the wheel, just the tire. Just grabbed these off fleabay. Appreciate any suggestions.

Tried a variety of things. The best is in the ultrasonic cleaner with the heat on, which softens the paint making it flexible and can then be picked and peeled off. Took a small sample of rubber and soaked it on the acetone with no ill effect to the...

Hello all,

I have a very nice set of JRX2 tires that are glued to the rims. I want to remove the tires from the rims but not destroy the rubber in the process. Any suggestions?

Old thread I know but this is good info. I bought a Marui car, was supposed to be a Ninja but is in fact a Coor's/Melling Stock car. The tires are heavily glued to the rims of course. :? I was going to toss them in the acetone but luckily the car...

Anybody no a good way to remove tires that are glued to the rims with out ruining them?

My acetone sealed tub consists of an empty 1 gallon paint jug (can be purchased at any hardware store for a coupla bucks.) No problems with loss from evap dut to the good sealing of the lid.

I've found that Schumacher tires don't like acetone too...
