Personally I'm very bad at jumping rear motered cars and making easy straight jumps is making a huge difference on my average lap times for modern tracks with high jumps, doubles and tripples...

normal rotation moters would require a 4th gear or other solution to make the car run forward as it is pictured in the ad above

I'm pretty sure the Fabiix didn't use an extra idler gear as it's not shown in the conversion kit photograph. I'm sure Jeroen can confirm this?

Just noticed Jeroen's car has the gearbox the opposite way round from the car in the advert, so you're probably right, must the the "contra rotation" version shown.

I don't have a problem jumping mid-engined cars, if anything my MCS is better over jumps than the RB5 as that nose dives all the time. You do have to be more careful with the throttle on a mid engined car though, but it's not a big problem.

To me if you look at the pics of the buggy it had foam on road tires. That means lots of grip.

I do know the U.K weather is mostly bad and a lot of racing was done in indoors and the Touring car boom was still a little way off. To see how it would perform on a dirt track would have been another story i say. Even though tires were a lot better but still no where near to what we have had in the last 5 yrs .

On the European tracks ( Grass, Astro Turf even carpet) this should have done well.

I do know the some U.K factory Losi drivers have been playing with a Mid Motor XXX conversions quite a few yrs back.

LOL! I wouldn't say our weather is mostly bad, more like 50% of the time Seriously, last year there was only one race meeting I went to that was rained off and cancelled. There were probably another 4 that were damp/ wet, but not enough to stop the meeting. However for me, it's all part of off-road racing. If I wanted perfect consistent conditions I'd be racing touring cars on carpet.....

Ellis Stafford developed a mid engined 2WD, wasn't allowed to race it by Losi so left soon after to join X-Factory and has since won the UK National championship with the X6. Losi have only just caught up 2 years later..... (TwentyTwo)

I must say you guys race no matter what.

That's one thing i really loved about racing in the U.K.

I was given some duct tape and some special water proof putty to seal the RX up.

A plastic bag over your TX and off racing in puddles and hail... LOL.

Good stuff indeed.

If we didn't run in the wet we'd hardly race at all

I use RCLazy Lazy Goo to seal up all my electrics, and never have any problems running through big puddles.

This was my old Fireblade after achieving my best ever national result at a very wet Kidderminster... think I was like 5th or something in the C final, which was a proper result for me considering there would be 120 or so entries for one nat meeting (all doing the same class)

I attribute my result through being able to finish my runs... many cars were either not running or 'expired' as water got in the electrics - the undertray used on the Schumacher & copious amounts of gaffer tape saved my car LOL!



I don't think the Fabix would have coped too well in such conditions?

Wet? I was racing against Joe in this heat at the Kidderminster National in 2007 - this is his car slightly off line in a corner - his car actually finished this race unlike 50% of the other racers.....

Great stuff.

I had a XX4 WE with all the slots in the chassis and i was very worried of the electrics was going to short it out but the duct tape worked well. I only came out with limited gear on the plane.

Good effort Derby Dan. When i say to guys here that i came third in the B Final they all laugh. Till i say there was C,D,E,& F finals.

I must say i had a lot of good advice from Darryn Boyle ( DMS Racing )

And more - UK Nationals go down to "L" finals - 120 drivers. Making anything below a D final means you're pretty decent at driving...sadly I've never made it below "F"....
