Ah I see, and yes, rears are very hard to find. i am sure I missed a set of yellow rears the other day, but they wouldn't post to the UK...

Hey, nice KW XX!.... & nice to see another UK guy on here loving the Losis'

The XX is my favourite ever buggy & the Kinwald is the ultimate model - yours looks to be in real nice condition.... although it seems a shame to have ditched the blue motormount - that is probably the unique/'signiture' part on the Kinwald? Having said that the blue mount was just a blue version of the original black part the shiney machined item is an improved option part

Can't wait to see it complete with a painted shell! 8)

Hehehe, cheers! This is a great forum, better than R/C tech for vintage stuff! Seems to a few UK people on here, which is cool. I ran a XX ever since they came out, in fact I remember seeing Jr & Sr Losi in the losi hospitality tent at the 1992/93 worlds in Basildon with an example on show. The car looked so good on that rough track. If it hadn't of rained, Joel would of won. Kinwald's RC10 was much better on the damp track...

I wasnt really out to restore it as a Kinwald - it just so happened that was what my last XX kit was. The blue motor plate was badly scratched underneath, and I was going for the 'new' look. It has the CR bits on, so its not far off. I did think about getting the polished one anodised blue - what do you think?

I've found a guy selling a XX in the UK with an unpainted kinwald shell that I am after, as it looks better than the original IMO. Unfortunately he's not good on the comms front so I will just have to wait until he replies. I am still gonna paint up the orignal shell, was hoping to be tomorrow as I have the day off, but I wont get enough time to cut it out and mask it etc. I am hoping to do some more photos though, i'll post some up when I can.

Have you got any build threads going at all?

Hi,

Its funny you saying about having your polished motor plate anodised - Bitd the model shop that sponsored me got in a batch of those plates anodised in different colours, not sure if these were from Helger (now Horizon UK) or whether the shop got them done?..... of course I chose a blue one for my XX.

The XX was my favourite ever buggy - I brought mine soon after they came out too (actually the model shop [again who sponsored me] swapped three of my old cars for it) I got my best results with that car & I do regret selling it

I have a NIB XX which i've been collecting spares & hop-up parts for - I will build it up to the spec of my old buggy - including a new Xcellorator shell (the Kinwald shell  ) that was so popular back then & had fitted to my car bitd. I don't have a build thread for it yet as its just a collection of parts - a job for a rainy day me thinks! I do have build threads for a Worlds RC10 I have restored & have now raced, my most recent project is for a Yokomo YZ10 which incidentally may have been run at the 93 Worlds?

Thats the shell I am after, I had forgotten its name...until now, cheers. If you see one on your travels, let me know!

Get some pics of the box & parts up now, always good to see old cars still wrapped up!!

yeah, I think there was a new YZ10 like you say, although I didnt pay as much attention to the 4WD class at the time.

I know the guy who has the Xcelerator mould. I had about 75 of them made and sold on here a year or so ago. I wish I would have kept some for my self. I only have 1 for mine.

I have to buy 50 at a time hes kind of a strange guy and not real friendly. I dont have the funds to front 50 more bodys maybe next summer. it took me a while to sell the ones I bought last time. and I kept a few for my self. then when I gave up finding a BK for my self I sold off mine. then a month later I got one and I had to buy one and paid a lot more than I was buying them for.

yea I thought so. but I think he really doesnt want to make any more and at 50 its enough money for his trouble. I had them made with a wing and sold them for 25 shipped. I think the price was right and I think I could sell about 10. but I just dont have the funds right now maybe at tax time I will get some?
