Re: Tecnica's RC10 -- 2010 VONATs Build!!!
I hit a little snag while mounting the rear axles.
I tried the front b44 cvds and they were too long, there rear cvds were too short.
Do I absolutely need the GT rear hubs in order for the B44 cvds to work with the Klein arms??
Hey Mark,
I'll be ready for you guys, I've been running nothing but 2wd for the past 4-5 months, and I'll be running this RC10 in a couple of weeks...
, we did have some close battles though, I expect nothing less from you guys.

I'm pretty rusty with a 2wd right now, I'll start practicing

I used the RPM GT rear carriers. These fit without spacers, cutting, shaving or any of that. Others have used B4 and some Losi parts, but I don't know what's needed for those.

Still waiting on the GT rear hubs....
So I slammed the Viper body and cut down the wing tubes to level out the body and the wing...It looks nice and low profile.

That's pretty cool Freddie! (Its Freddie isn't it?) I'm still trying to learn all of the active regular members real names. I'm thinking of going with the viper as well on my RC10. With the T front shock tower leaning in so far and the slammed viper, it almost looks like a Schumacher Cougar 2. Very sleek!

Re: Tecnica's RC10 -- 2010 VONATs Build!!!
I have done more racing with a XXcr than with anything else in my nearly twenty years of RC. You know, I saved my last CR body for sentimental reasons, and sat it on my RC10 recently. (it was the only buggy body I had around) Anyway, it ALMOST fit, but my chassis isn't cut down. Have you placed a XX body onto your chassis? You might could run one ...

Yeah, that looks like it would work....
But you know, I'm committed to keeping it all Associated, I don't end up selling my XX, I'll rebuild it and shelf queen it...

looks good Freddy, I run that same Losi 8008 xx body on my Losi pro se. it seems it is a very versatile body. I picked it because it was 12bucks then I really liked how it fit it. back then you couldnt get a pro se body, now I dont want one.

Re: Tecnica's RC10 -- 2010 VONATs Build!!!
Ok, so I ordered the GT hubs on Monday and got them today, don't you hate when that happens??
1. In order to keep some of the cost down on this build, I decided to use as many of the parts that I had as possible. With that being said, I used a set of B3 CVDs, and they matched up perfectly, I had to mod the arms a bit to prevent the CVDs from hitting them, but they worked out good.
2. I used a set of B44 offset spring retainers to get the shocks away from the rear wheels, I don't know where I went wrong, but I wont be able to use the outside holes on the Klein arms.
3. I put together a set of Lunsford Tie Rods with RPM ball cups(blue).
4. Used a body mount from a B44 to make a rear body mount, the front part of the body will be attached with velcro.
I still have to mount the electronics and paint up the body....COMING SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I decided to do a quicky paint job on this body with my race scheme. Still working on mounting the electronics, and off to the track for some test and tune....

Cooool! Great work technica.... it certainly takes those jumps really nicely! Isn't it a great sensation when you build something like this & when you run it, it actually goes well!
I think what you have done is the perfect recipe for updating the original RC10 to make it competitive against the newer cars. Slightly wider track, longer arms & longer suspension travel.... you've got it covered
Love the slammed Viper shell & low wing... really brings the look of the car right up to date.
Btw thats a nice small track - & you're driving some neat lines... wish we had somewhere like that in the UK
