you love the bst sectionlosiXXXman wrote:I deliberated for a couple days on what color to do this in. I ended up using pactra blue streak for lexan. Just had it lying there in the garage, and knew I wouldn't use it again on a body. As for the interior, i ran out of the blue, so I sprayed it with some "hamered" metallic grey, and didn't clear coat it. I'm reaaalllly anxious to get this running, but the big challenge is going to be the tranny. The six gear bottom end is complete, but it has no top shaft, diff tube, diff pinions, no nothing. With some of those parts going for $35 on ebay, it may be awhile...unless some kind members can help me out for a little less. I am watching the 'bay for six gears because I have seen some go for pretty cheap complete. Cannot wait til I can get BST access, that's for sure!

Umm yeah. BST rules. My car was pretty much sitting like the pic in number 2 post until I got BST access. Since then, I've picked up a tranny and brace, knuckles, battery box, and body mounts through trade. Someone else is now hooking me up with the team shock tower and some nose tubes. I must say the members of RC10 Talk are the best! The community just gets behind everyone to get their old cars on the road - or off it rather!?

This guy is pretty well wrapped now. Here's the pics. I hacked up the chassis trying to cut it down, so I will NOT be sharing any more interior pics.
Ayway, I like the way the XXcr body looks when slammed on the car. It would have fit on a graphite car better though. I've decided that instead of building multiple incarnations of the RC10, I'm going to just run this one as is, and add to it as I go along. I hope to stick to that, because my RC ADD tends to get the best of me and I buy more and more cars and projects without fully developing what I already have. Case in point, the four other tamiya cars in my garage that are box stock except bearings...enough with the long-winded self loathing though.....

Re: Here's My 'Ten
My white parts were getting a little dingy so I decided I'd makeover this car again. I was hoping for a Pactra Rally Green on the plastic, but I got sidetracked, and let it sit in the dye a little long....

Long story short, the deep green never would grow on me, so you may have seen it up on BST recently. No one wanted the poor girl in her state so I decided to have another go.

I like it a lot more now, think I'll go ahead and get a body and keep it now....

Re: Here's My 'Ten
Yes they're .56s. I have been on the lookout for some .71s, but never seem to find any..
I cannot make up my mind on a body for this thing... My RC10 body list in order of fave to least is Turbo Mirage, Protech2, Protech, Viper. I want to keep it cheap though, so it'll probably end up with one of the still produced bodies...

Yeah I have been looking .71 gold shocks for some time now too and no luck. Thinking about just buying each part separately lol.
Also had a question about your shock towers. Did you dye them black?
