could it be you have 2 front diff pulleys? I think the rear one has no flange on one side

interesting enough, the rear pulley that was on the car when I got it, did not have the outermost flange on it, The pulley was wasted though. The only part numbers I could find for the rear diff pulley is ZD-503, which comes in a pair, and they both have flanges on either side of the pulley. I looked in the various instruction manuals online, and could not find any mention of it, and the illustrations show the flanges on both sides of the pulleys, though, none of them are in english so there may be a mention of it that I cannot read.Mr. ED wrote:could it be you have 2 front diff pulleys? I have an unopened set that came in the YR4 kit I bought a while ago: one single flanged and one double flanged. Maybe the single flanged pulley is for the front then?

ED, what is the part number on the bag? is it ZD-503? if so maybe they did a running change and superseded the single flange pulley with a dual flange pulley? both packs I got labeled ZD-503 are the newer style packages with two double flange pulleys in each. aside from all that though it looks like the double flange will work fine, I don't see any clearance issue with it? The only thing I could really think of with only having one flange on the rear pulley is so maybe dirt wouldnt' get clogged up in the pulley as bad? meaning it would at least have a small chance of cleaning its self before it wasted the belt and pulley?

Single flange pulley is indeed for the rear and you are probably right about the dirt clearing part. Early Yokes were notorious for tearing up the rear belts and pulleys as little pebbles get trapped in the rear enclosed gearbox. Racers started putting cuts in the gearbox to release the pebbles.

finished up the steering linkage and mounted up some new holeshots on some NIP wheels, also threw in a New Reedy motor I had kickin' around. just needs a new body from Jay and I think it's done! (now I don't know what the hell to do with it? I'm not as attatched to it as I thought I'd be)

That's too bad, because I have become very attached to that car you built

Re: PBR Allstars '94 dogfighter update 1/15/10
I have similar experiences with cars I buy now but never owned or drove earlier; sometimes the magic lasts a while but when I don't get to race them it waters down. The next step is usually to start picking parts of for other projects or turn them into a project all-together. (And yes, I also sold/gave away some.)
I'd say; race it, build a relation with it if you can and you'll soon find the love you're missing now

Sorry if pic is too big as i dont know how to change the size on this forum
but you can see the old packs of zc-503 do have a front and rear.
I have a YZ10 similar and that has the same rear diff as the front.
Great build you have done there
