PBR Allstars Worlds car Just about done! *pics inside*
okay, I'm hoping I get lucky with this one. I've been wavering the last couple days looking at this one. Not sure if it's a real deal '93 worlds or not, seems to have the right bits. I'm really hoping that the tub is as clean as it looks in the pics. if thats the case I'll probaby find a nice nose and motor plate and do the shelf resto thing (only taking it down for that elusive VONATS trip if I ever get to go!) and if the chassis not as nice in the pics I'll probably build it into a nice racer, which will probably still do mostly shelf duty with an occasional pack on a practice day.
Wasn't there someone on here doing the correct bodies for these cars? (I'm not sure which body is supposed to be on here even? Mirage?) I know I'd like to put the right body on the car. not too worried about the wheels being wrong, I'm not that much of a purist. but any pointers, etc would be greatly appreciated!
thanks,
ford.

That looks like it will clean up great! It could be the photos but the white does not look particularly yellowed. Considering what the not totally correct rebuid just went for on e-bay, I'd say you stole this one.

surpising too, it sat on a couple different messageboards for over a week! I made an offer on it and he took it! He has a nice Team car for sale too.
Also, what kind of turnbuckles are those? RCPS? are they any good? worth anything? I've always been very fond of lundsford pins and buckles so that is what will most likely go on the car and I'll sell the ones on the car now.

Yeah Scr8p, the guy had a post on DODC and Rctech. he has a team car for sale as well with a couple nice upgrades on it in similar condition. It looks like a good buy, tubs really clean, A&L rack in the car, all white parts. He moved on the price of the '93 tub car I bought so I'd be willing to say he'd move on the price of the team car as well. They have been posted for over a week.

Re: Just payed for a Worlds Tub car! (pics inside)
now i see what's going on...............
the guy that sent me a couple pics of the late graphite team car is the one that BOUGHT the car off the guy on rctech. just to flip it and make money. he wanted my opinion on what it's worth. i know what he paid for it, and it's not what the guy listed the car for.

Re: Just payed for a Worlds Tub car! (pics inside)
Funny thing, I was surprised the graphite car went as quick as it did, and I thought the price was a little high? (not sure what the actual selling price was) The worlds car definitely seemed a bit on the cheaper side (we'll see what kind of condition it's in when I get it), and the Team car he's selling seems like a fair/good deal especially for someone just getting into RC10's. I'm assuming that maybe the guy didn't really know the market for vintage '10's ? especially seeing how they were advertised?
On a related note I finally got down that graphite chassis I picked up from you a few months ago and bolted bulkheads and towers on it.... as soon as the tub car shows up I think it's going back on the shelf

Nice car. Yep, those are RCPS (or maybe early Lundsford) titanium turnbuckles. I’ve always liked that style - ran them for years on my 10T BITD. Never broke one and they're still on the truck to this day. (Just in case didn't sell you on them hard enough, just let me know if you want to part with them)
That graphite team car has the rare worlds style chassis and it looks to be in pretty good shape. $250’s not a bad deal at all for that lot in my opinion. One of those chassis alone is on eBay right now at $100 - used.

Ahh,, okay, I noticed that chassis was a little different shape than most graphites I've seen.
and I'll let you know what I'm gonna do with those buckles

Re: Just payed for a Worlds Tub car! (pics inside)
i started to build that chassis at least 4-5 times, only to tear it back down each time because i thought of a different direction to go with it. that's what happens when you don't have all of the parts need to to finish something shortly after starting it.PBR Allstar wrote:On a related note I finally got down that graphite chassis I picked up from you a few months ago and bolted bulkheads and towers on it.... as soon as the tub car shows up I think it's going back on the shelf![]()

I opened that thread several times, scanned it to see if he dropped the prices. I though, ahh, no more rc10's unless they are a bargain, not really a bargain for a team car.......I should have looked a little closer! Nice score.

Re: Just payed for a Worlds Tub car! (pics inside)
Okay, so the worlds showed up today,,,, now I'm confused on what to do with it??? I gave it a quick clean up and wow,,, it is really pretty cherry. the only bummer on the tub, which I kind of suspected because I've seen it so many times is a couple tiny scratches underneath the Kimbrough servo saver. Other than that, the bottom is cherry, the inside is cherry! It also came with another black tub chassis, that in the original pics looked destroyed, but in fact, it was pretty nice, looks like it saw a lot of duty on carpet, the bottom where I thought it was scratched beyond belief is just polished off, no gouges at all!
I am however, a little puzzled why some of the other parts are worse for wear? the motor plate is hacked and has seen some use, as well as the nose plate , and the shock caps look like theyve been on a car that has seen some time upside down. Also all the hardware looks like it came out of my trash!
As for the other worlds parts, like the towers, and the bellcranks, they are absolutely flawless, the edges on the tops of the towers are crisp and sharp, theyve never bonced off mother earth in a bad way.
So at this point, I can restore it, put it in a box up in the rafters and get to it on the Mrlexan schedule, or trade it to the next enthusiast?
if I were to restore it here is the relatively short list of parts I'd need:
motor plate
nose plate
shock caps
ball cups white
battery box white
1 body post white
I would need a body and wheels/tires, but I'm not anal enough to hunt for box art stuff so it's not that big of a deal. But if I had the parts above I think it would come in nicer than some of the cars that have gone for big money as of late on the bay (I know how the hobby fluctuates, and I'm not basing my decision on dollars, If I were to pass the project on it would be to one of you guys, not in the interest profit.)
Anyway, time for pics!

Re: My worlds car just showed up! New Pics Inside!
In the first pic of the car before you had it in hand I thought it looked like the chassis had been swapped!, very sharp--and with CC belcranks too!!
Those are actually box art-

Re: My worlds car just showed up! New Pics Inside!
I'm pretty sure the chassis has been swapped or something along those lines? Might even be a worlds build up at some point? , doesn't really bother me much seeing as the really hard to find parts are in near perfect shape!
