Step by step, inch by inch. It's all coming together. This is just great to see.

Looks great!. Reminds me of the pics I used to see in the old RC Plane mags when I was a little kid (before there were car mags btw). Just don't let those rear tires get too small  . -Jeff

I think you built a time machine and went back to 1971! Is the chassis steel or aluminum - never heard of a RC1. Seeing this make me regret selling a Dash 1 a few months ago. :x

Well... that I figured since it's called RC1. No, I never came across the name before I read this post. It seems to be more rare than the Dash 1 as I found little info on Google and no pics. I always like to learn about models, any place you can point me for info?

Looking at the "before" pics, the front beam axle was very rusty - great job on refinishing it but it's the aluminum chassis that's more interesting. I have found when aluminum is oxidized and if it's cleaned with glass beads or abrasive paper, the natural finish never looks the same. What did you use? BTW, the more I look at the your pics, the more I want one. Grrrrr.

Oh, sorry, i have another question. The linkage rods. So if I understand correctly, they have a dampener spring inside to protect the servo? You copied the design from the originals or created this yourself? Would you post a pic of the internal assembly?

Yes the push and pull rods protect the servo the one on the brake pushes on the spring in the tube and the throttle one pulls on the the spring when the throttle is wide open. I will try to get a pic I am doing to more.

Here is a pic of a unassembled unit this would be a pull rod as the stop on the wire would pull against the spring. Hope this helps to understand.
