Oh you are giving me all kinds of things I want to buy now!

Questions:

1. Where did you get the motor?
2. How do you mount it to the chassis?
3. How do you build the interior and rear deck? (The flat parts)
4. How will you secure the wiring for the lights? I have a set but the wires always get in the way

1. here is the motor:
https://www.shapeways.com/model/1628898/mk2-srb-vw-main-engine-part-1-of-2-engine-body.html?li=shop-results&materialId=62
2. it bolts on the side with the motor cover screw. you have to grind the screw mount down flat then it just bolts on.
3. I just cut it out of card board till I was happy with it then transfered it to a sheet of. 040 plastic sheet form plastic struck
4. not sure till they get here I ordered a turing car setup and took the tail lights cut out the moulding in lights slowly till the clear lens fit the houseing I will glue them in when they get here.

the stock wheels came in today I didnt have any white so I just painted the centers silver to match the fast attack wheel rims added the RC4wd bolts their tiny and hard to work with but worth it when their in their they look stock. not sure I think I like the Centerlines better still. I like the AJ tires better they are wider and a little taller. I have the matching fronts but I ordered some new rims to put them on.

Love those wheels - look like actual stock VW wheels! If you had dish hub caps that would make it perfect

All a matter of time, money and motivation my friend! Mostly the money I think. Spent a bunch of cash on siding, a roof and paint for the house, still have a deck to build so funds are somewhat limited unfortunately.

Funny you mention that. I'm really considering letting go of one of my Champs. One is restored (needs a new bumper and a couple of little things finished, the other is new built, as you know. :) Here's the one that would be the best candidate for mods:

Well the matching wide front tires are for the stock wheels not the Rough Rider wheels I have on it. so the skinnys will have to stay. the stock incerts only fit the larger wheels.

Rick I think it looks badass with the skinnys up front. Way more scale than wide ones would be anyway.
