So...my son wants to go racing, but I "borrowed" his 17.5 for my buggy...hmmm....

Okay, take the 17.5 out and drop in the 13.5...not working, sensor wire issue....hmmm....

Okay, take the 13.5 out and drop in the Velineon...that motor works

So the score is:

Brushless system - 1
6 gear tranny - 0

2 passes up & down the street and an idler gear is toast. Damn no slipper 6 gear

So, toss in 2 fresh idler gears, put it all back together...ever so slightly back off the "diff" nut on the 6 gear....mmmmm, ballistic speed. Useless for the track, but fun out front!!

Guess that answers how the 6 gear can handle a VXL motor lol

It was more my stupidity than a fault of the tranny. For the 17.5, I ran it very tight, I didnt readjust it to more inline of where it should be for the VXL.

Lets also face it...the VXL, with an 18mm rotor, is a torque monster. I geared it 19/81 to start, probably can go to 21/22 if I want. Plenty of grunt in this thing, I just dont want to go crazy with speed, especially on asphalt

Theres one motor out there now thats even more of a torque monster then the VXL motor lol. Castle Creations recently came out with a 3800 KV motor that is 4 pole instead of 2 pole like the VXL motor. from what i understand the 4 pole type motors make a ton of torque compared to the standard motors. If i wasnt afraid of fragging my trans with it i would seriously consider one for my buggy

Anyone know what this motor is (the 6X8)...its SUPER fast, 15/81 with a 35C Reedy & kartwheels on asphalt

That mamba pro really pushes those motors hard as well. Those are the pre-Feigo Orion's, might be the same as the NEO-1, they look the same era-

any idea of the KV or "turns"?

So:

Bent dog bone
Demolished shock spring (how did that happen?)
Broken ball stud (in the rear bulkhead  )
Bent shock shaft

Idea of KV, yupper-TOO MUCH :!: The early BL setups were not really graded, I am trying to recall, I will remember at 3am and get back on here-

been waiting for the body to get painted up, no changes other than fixing the broken parts...LOL.

In the meantime, I've been collecting up parts to build a nice racer grade vintage (no modern parts), as soon as I get it done, things change so this will be on the auction block soon. Just need to pick up some rear wheel nuts and a matching set of crystals.

But, after a couple bills are paid, the rest goes into the RC fund

Hey Joey. Like the buggy so far and your vintage racer above. Your last vintage racer pictured above...do you or anyone know anything about the front tires? I picked up a set off ebay but they don't match. slightly different and would like to find a mate for it.
Thanx
