Cool video, even if it isn't exactly action packed.

I have to admit that I haven't been able to stop thinking about this car for the past two days. I'm all but sold at this point. I'm definitely getting one. I have always admired SRB's, but never really got into them in the past. Partially I suppose because they're a little before my time, but probably mostly because they were so expensive. $300 or so dollars to put together a brand new mostly metal scale buggy? Starting to sound like a no-brainer to me. If they do re-re the Sand Scorcher later, it would be easy enough to convert it over (or just do it from the start) but I have a feeling I'd want to get one of those too. I've been itching for a new r/c project, this really has me pumped.

Love the old Tamiya promo videos:

now if they would just repop the blackfoot, they could bring back the f-150.

Its like a perfect storm is a brewin'. First the Frog. Now an SRB. With my math, that means they're gonna need an F150 and a VW bug. F150>>>Blackfoot, Sand Scorcher>>>Monster Beetle. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I do feel a slight kicking sensation on my butt though... oh wait, that's just my wallet.

Isn't the Sand Scorcher the same car as this with just a Beetle body?
I see alot of guys want one of these to but a lexan VW body on....why not use a Tamiya Beetle body.....you can still get them new.

They were made from a similar mold but the Sand Scorcher body has quite a few different details

Cool link, thanks for posting it. Looks like the wheels are made of the same material as the Mini Cooper.

Love that translation. Too bad they cut up his office. I can't help but wonder why the products wonder if they'll disappear.

No problem, it was actually over in the RC10 forum.

That translator cracks me up. ..it gets you where you need to be only some of the time.

Seriously, there are some cool details in the shots, like the cutaway or the new damper.

Another thing to think about, one good wack into the curb and your plastic body is done for, especially with the Rough Rider/Buggy Champ Body.
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

True...but for pure accuracy, the hard bodies can't be beat... 8) Lexan for runnin'....hard body for the shelf...

A few more pics, for those of us who can't get enough:

http://www.rcgrabbag.com/archives/new-tamiya-buggy-champ-photos/

Just look at that open box pic. :D

According to Banzai Hobby, who has the Buggy Champ listed at $275.50, the kit will be released in mid-July. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they're a US shop, but that's still all good news.

I'm new to the forum here and had no idea they were re-releasing this until now! Glad I found this place. I will definitely be picking one of these up when they are available.

Check out Tamiya's website...They've started advertising it.

That woven chassis almost looks like carbon fiber.

I'm counting the days until it hits our ports...
Projects and shelfers:
Late Edinger, RC10B2, Dual Sport, GT, Kyosho Turbo Ultima, Triumph, Tamiya Sand Scorcher, Blackfoot/Monster Beetle, '67 Beetle, Nikko Rhino, Traxxas Fiero, Slash, Hand-built Dune Buggy..all on here somewhere...
