One of the coolest (R/C) car chases ever
Ok,
For those of you who like car chases in movies:
How cool is it to have Guns n' Roses, Clint Eastwood, and most everyone's favorite R/C car (in a starring role)?

Did you notice the kid playing with the RC car that was using the same freq as the corvette? When he set the car down it was Jay Halsey's Champ car. Cool, never saw that before.

Wasn't he the driver of the 'Vette too?
I thought he was involved in this movie, and Ghost Busters 2 for the R/C sequences?

Yes, Jay Halsey built and drove the corvette but how cool is that to let them use your champ car be an extra in the movie. Somewhere I read that he first showed up with a corvette with 10 or 12 cells and it was like a bullet and so was actually too fast for the scene. He had to re-engineer the car down to something more suitable for the speed of the cars. Also, I think Gene Husting said that the corvette was on display at the AE offices for a long time after the movie was made until one day when everyone was in a meeting and when it was over they found that someone had come into the building and walked off with the corvette.

Sound effects. Almost everything in movies has sound dubbed over, even if it's not correct. It's usually the worst when it involves a knife or sword or some kind of blade, it always makes a noise, I don't think I've ever been able to get a noise out of a knife unless I dropped it. Stupid movies.clinehobbies wrote:WHy does the corvette sound like it has a nitro engine?

That is cool that they had Jay's champ car in there. I never noticed that either.
