Re: Kyosho stock car
I think I have seen that in their mini catalogs : there's a 1/12th... Buick?
I have never seen what's under that shell, but the wheels sure look like the ones on most pan-cars

Re: Kyosho stock car
When kyosho came out with their on road series (ultima based cars), they also released some open wheel models. My buddy had the penzoil car. Kyosho also had a full bodied toyota GTP on this chassis.
I don't recall ever seeing a stockcar version with this chassis. The only stock car I remember them releasing was the Lumina that was based on the slingshot chassis.
They also had a Target car, but that was a couple years later.
Regards,
highwayracer

Re: Kyosho stock car
the 1/12 kit is number 3054 : Buick stocker
I have it in the mini-catalog of sept 1990 (french version)
Looks pretty mean
The penzoil F1 car... I assembled one for a friend; but that thad a gearbox based on an ultima's internals; not direct drive as Rick pictures. Then, around 95 there was the impress F1 which rembles the picture about as much as any F1 of that time.
Rick how close is that picture; just similar or is that a picture of the same chassis, just, less new???
For 200 I'd say leave it in the shop: no way you'll make a profit on it after adding the shipping cost.

Re: Kyosho stock car
That's cause Kyosho kits aren't shrink wrapped...you can open up the box. We use to tape the boxes shut in our shop for security purposes.Mr. ED wrote:by the way: I don't believe I have ever seen a kyosho kit shrink wrapped in a european store.

Well its a SR-5 not a K-5? here you go pic's of the kit it is srinkraped and he said it came that way? it been sitting here in his shop since around 1994-95 untouched?? if anybody wants it your looking at about 250 shipped I will be happy to go get it and ship it anywere? overseas shipping will be a little more. its only about 40 miles away so its not a big deal to go get it. but its not anything I want so if you do let me know? Looks like a Tbird body but who knows?

Thanks for posting these pics Rick.
I have never seen this car before. I wonder if it was a kyosho US product or especially developed by Japan for the US market

KYOC0250 30891 TRAIL BLASTER EP
KYOC0264 SR-5 FORMULA SPORT CAR
KYOC0265 SR-5 STOCK CAR 1/10
KYOC0425 BAJA BEETLE W/GS11X/REV
KYOC0426 31751 DODGE RAM W/GS11X
That gives a pretty good timeline gauge, and part numbers.
I have found reference to an SR-5 Sports Truck as well

Apologies, it was listed last year, not clear if it sold, I was hoping a NZ guy on here might be registered to contact him, or find out?
