Woopie, so I'm a rookie around here. And I guess that makes you the thin-skinned experienced guy.

But since everyone that took the time to respond didn't see it in your eyes, and nobody else chimed in in your defense and Losi-trashing, I'm guessing you don't have anybody in your corner on this.... or maybe you didn't read the other responses.
I didn't start off using the "wise-guy" routine -- but after you carried your complaint to the next level it's really hard to resist because of your insistance on not getting IT!
I still fail to see what you're angry about, or still mad over, but I'll suggest that if you're going to post such complaints that you come back in not being so thin-skinned. I mean seriously, did you get pissed off over whoopie-cushions or somebody slipping a fart-player in your backpack as a kid?
And finally, it would be just my educated guess - but since the ground-pounding monster truckin' part of the hobby really hasn't paid off for Losi with any of their previous releases (and their crawlers aren't flying off the shelves either) that they'll laugh over the Big Bear video and tell you that company doesn't fall within their target consumer group.

Rock on dude!

Re: LOSI = pathetic
rer40 what do you mean by thin-skilled experienced guy and whats a fart player ..and i"get it"you just dont know me and what im about.i just want to let you know i dont want to have a post battle ..i didnt mean for that at all.i just said what i said cause i felt like you just joined rc10 talk and you start bustin my chops.and i feel like im one of the guys that give respect and doesnt "bust chops" thanks jk racing for the link..(dont know why i didnt see that)..i mailed them and sent them that video.. hope they do laugh at that vid .thats what rc is all about to me ..a good laugh
Re: LOSI = pathetic
I meant to say "thin-skinned," and a "fart player" is a little electronic device that makes a farting sound every time you push the button (juvenile humor, just like whoopie cushons). But honestly, when you poke at the new guy and call him a newbie that doesn't get much in the way of respect in return just because you've been around for a while.longboardnj wrote:rer40 what do you mean by thin-skilled experienced guy and whats a fart player ..and i"get it"you just dont know me and what im about.i just want to let you know i dont want to have a post battle ..i didnt mean for that at all.i just said what i said cause i felt like you just joined rc10 talk and you start bustin my chops.and i feel like im one of the guys that give respect and doesnt "bust chops" thanks jk racing for the link..(dont know why i didnt see that)..i mailed them and sent them that video.. hope they do laugh at that vid .thats what rc is all about to me ..a good laugh
As I said initially, "I wasn't trying to bash you" but instead was trying to suggest you not take things so seriously or to heart. The ad was a joke, a April Fool's Joke -- and one I'd bet the overwhelming majority though absolutely hilarious. I didn't insult you, I wasn't rude, at least until you threw down the gauntlet. But I'd think anyone would say that "Pathetic" was way over the top.
Take life a little less serious and there's a higher chance of never needing high blood pressure medication.

That video was amazing. One of the best r/c videos I've seen. I can't put my finger on what's so good, but it just is.
It is cool to be different. But, when you are a business the goal is to make money. Being different and making money usually don't go together. Sometimes they do, but the market for a radio controlled duck truck has to be very, very tiny.
In the meantime, here's a good start to building your own:

Re: LOSI = pathetic
Do it! Do it! Do it! I'd love to see one made. Heck, if I had more free time, (and motivation) I'd be temped to do it myself after reading this thread. It sounds like a fun project for sure. There are so many ways you could go about making one. You could just make solid axle, rigid chassis, no suspension boat-like platform with the wheels sticking out. You could figure out how to seal up some TXT axles and make a swamp-buggy like setup (probably what I'd try) where you seal up as much as you can, but leave the suspension and just try to make it a high speed slop thrower. I'd think that for anything that would have suspension, the TXT style platforms would be the best place to start. Keeping the motors and stuff up out of the way. I'd think you could make a modernized High Roller with the TXT platform, just figure out a sealed tub section of the chassis. It could be a fun project, kinda involved, lots to think and plan out, but not really that difficult to execute.longboardnj wrote:thanks alot ..that video brings me back to a better timeThat video was amazing. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wt ... XVBT8&P=FRplus the high roller is one of my most wanted rcs and i think the big bear is also a very cool looking truck (great tire to truck size ratio) ..i didnt know tower was selling clod axles now..cool i thought you could only get those from tamiya .i have been thinking of making my own amphibous truck (like the high roller) out of my txt1 or my clod ..not to sure how to go about doing it..
I still can't get over that video, it's really amazing. It's like a time machine, well I guess technically it's not like one, it actually kind of is one. Makes me want to start a sticky somewhere to collect awesome vintage videos like this. We could also put in the Masami vs Kinwald video that was recently posted, maybe some Tamiya promo videos and stuff. It would be nice to have them all gathered in one spot.
