Not complaining just surprised on how much fluctuation there is in the prices right now on some of the kyosho stuff either they go real high or real low and the ones that are going high aren't worth what people are paying for them. Though I think this sideways was a pretty good deal ,I can see why they were not so popular the bodies are a pain in the neck to get off the chassis, but it was one I didn't have now I do.

If I were a shelfer this would be something I'd want on the rack.
Do you need to remove the body to pull the battery out?

Re: kyosho Side ways sprint
As you wrote the body is hard to take off, I assumed the nerf wings were blocking the access.
Do you know if those front tires are the same as were used all around on the optima mid and ultima based wide touringcars of the 90s?

Re: kyosho Side ways sprint
the nerf bars are not attached at the top only the bottom so it makes it very easy to load battery, the tires I believe were only made for the sideway sprint, the fronts would be to large in diameter for the 1/10 cars unless maybe for the 1/8 models like the f1 not really sure on thatMr. ED wrote:As you wrote the body is hard to take off, I assumed the nerf wings were blocking the access.

Re: kyosho Side ways sprint
The front tires on the sideways were the same ones used on the ultima based road cars (f40, testarossa, 911, 300z, etc...). The rear tires and wheels (4) were especially made for the sideways.
People us to think those were really ugly cars, until I built 2 for display (for the shop). One stock and the other with an old muscle car body. The wide rear tires really looked great with those old bodies...

highwayracer

Re: kyosho Side ways sprint
I always liked the way it looks , but with a total lack of oval racing here and ;y love for custom builds...
I could see myself put a parma hotrod body on it, maybe one of their hemi's under the hood also ...
Actuallly, I have the car, front wheels of those ultima derivates, and front tires. Just missing the rear wheels (know where to get them though).
Body is still available from parma... damned rear tires are the problem
Oh well, saves me some money in the pocket.
