CF Chassis Blank info

Post by JK Racing »

okay, I finally give up looking and am starting a new thread.

On RCTECH, there is a guy who is posting that he can get CF made however you want it made...so I tossed out a blank chassis with 30 degree kick up (for us vintage lovers), here was his answer:
you let em know....My Photobucket is open for all to see for a reason....If they want it that bad that will contact me...Im not goin around chasing possible sales.
If your a member there, you can PM him, here is the thread he posted this info into:

http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric-off-road/266121-would-you-buy-carbon-fiber-slash-chassis-2.html#post5532097

I would love to see some new builds on fresh one-off chassis....

Rude responses like the that are the reason I dont go to other forms. On here you would never get a response like that.

Thanks for looking out for us JK, but looking at the pictures the guy has in that bucket, there's only 2d stuff. I seriously doubt he understood your question.

The Matrix company in the same thread seems a much better bet. He doesn't list blank sheets on his site but at least the Losi 8th he shows has a kickup in it.

On the other hand , I've seen the thermoformable CF stuff in a LHS and while it's expensive it may come cheaper when considering posting and handling charges.

Edit: this is the link for matrix: http://www.matrixconceptsinc.com/
I thought I'd spare the others from having to read that awfull thread. Such wankers!

Asso-man mentioned this material a couple months back. A german website is offering sheets which use a different resin. (the normal stuff used is thermo harding and once it i set the only thing it does when heated is burn up LOL)

Basically you can form the sheet after heating it up in an oven.
What scares me though is you need to heat it up so much: how do you handle it at that temp???
