The price tag said Robbe, but I'm not sure if it really belongs in one of their cars, or the shop just used their tags on everything at that time.
Note the spherical shift knob in the left hand.

Jay, do you happen to have an image of a Dahm's driver?
If it's not a Dahm's I'm going to start digging my old robbe's catalogs

Re: who's this behind the wheel and what's he driving?
I had a look in my old robbe catalog (I think its's the one of 95, but it misses the front page).
Apparently Robbe at that time imported the Kyosho Progress and little as the picture is, I believe that's got the same driver.
Anybody know where I can get a better look at a progress driver?

It's not a progress driver, but I'm told it may be a mugen bulldog driver now. Would be possible for this shop...
Anyobody got a mugen bulldog WITH driver to compare pictures?

Re: who's this behind the wheel and what's he driving?
They sure do on that picture, but it's doubtfull given the background of the shop I found this little man at.
This shop never sold any associated stuff (though I did find an rc10t body with just different body post markings here too)
Maybe I have to put up yet another threat: this time in the associated on-road section of the forum
It would only be the 4th or so

Re: who's this behind the wheel and what's he driving?
I checked an original Mugen Bulldog driver doll and it definitely isn't that. The distinctive seatbelts aren't part of the bulldog mould. The bulldog is on the simpler side of things where the mystery driver is very, very detailed.
Re: who's this behind the wheel and what's he driving?
I found these driver dolls...not 100% match...more like 99%
