There were lots of hop-ups for the Hotshot, but that was a handmade carbon fiber chassis by terry.sc at TC:

Hot Trick had their parts:
http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=26957&id=3729

TMS also made a chassis kit:

terry.sc posted that same pic on Oople a long time ago: http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3232

Not much more info than you already have...

That is a pretty cool chassis conversion. 8)

I have been looking for that TMS kit for ages and no such luck. It has been on my project list for a long time and just can't make the time. Very cool kit indeed. Brandon, you thinking of making one?

I have seen that TMS kit one time, but it was in someone's collection and not for sale (I did ask!). The Hot Trick stuff was cool looking, but it made the Hotshot that much more of a tank.

On a side note, those rims were from RW Racing as terry.sc mentions on his entry. Gisom (Italian company) used to make some for the Hotshot as well. FYI eggayk on eBay occasionally sells repros-- I have some on my Hotshot. They are nicely machined and he has had them in blue, red, black and gold. They're worth watching for. :D

I was going to base my build on whether I could find the parts. I'm sure it would be pretty easy to get the stuff cut (from dynotech) but I am a little lazy at the moment to start from scratch.

Pargu is making some Tamiya 4wd replica wheels now that look really good. I may pick up a set. He's got em on the bay right now. I like the non anodized a little better than the colored ones.

You would, Mr. Sees.

Seriously, those are expensive imho. The anodized ones go for about 1/3 of that, so I don't feel as bad about running them. ;)

Good luck on your chassis search!

I think I got mine for less than $40 shipped and that was before the re-re Hotshot. I think I've seen them go for less than that for a set of 4 in the past year. He may have sold off the last of his supply though- interested parties could always contact him.

EDIT: I found the email. I paid $20.56gbp shipped in March 07. It was about $1.95usd to gbp back then, so with Paypal's conversion fee I was right at $40.

Post back when you get them-- just to let everyone know how they are (milling, etc). They look very nice in the auction. I bet they're heavy, but for most people that won't matter as they most likely will never be run.
Thanks.

I have some of his multi-hole Kyosho wheels, the ones that came on the Turbo optima. Yes, they are heavy, but the quality is excellent for the price. You couldn't make them for the price what he is selling them for. The company I used to work for used to charge $110/hr for a CNC machine.

I agree. I bought a set of the RC10 jellybean 2.2" wheels. Quality is excellent, wheels are heavy, look great. Got them when live was giving 25% discount, shipping and all was $81. Not bad.

I'm glad to hear that Pargu's stuff is quality-- good info for others here, but this is where members of these forums agree to disagree. ;)

I can't for the life of me see these things sitting on my shelf forever. I really think my JG Dart Hotshot is going to be my VONats entry if I can make it this year. I've been looking at it since last summer and it just needs to be run.
